Suns been out all morning and is still out and its 14 degrees and says its a record high.
Asda rang me and my delivery lorry had broken down so he asked if it would be ok if the order came later. I said yes as I was in all day and it did'nt come much later at all. One of the usual drivers I have and he said he would be glad to get home tonight as he had had three extra deliveries to do.
Iv'e been painting all morning and have just stopped for something to eat, a nice homelaid egg and tomato sandwich.
Hope the suns out for Vera on her birthday.

Morning All,
<3 :-D HAPPY BIRTHDAY VERA :-D <3 I hope you have a nice day enjoying whatever you are doing! <3
It's 12 degrees but dull here and we had rain last night. We went for a coffee and hot egg, mushroom and spinach cob at costa on the retail park at opening time and just d own the main road the other side an ambulance had crashed into a car outside the Police HQ. Traffic was stationary behind it so we had to think of another way home in case it was still the same to come back as OH had an online meeting to be back for. Then at Costa the manager waved and smiled and came to unlock the sliding doors and we were laughing as the doors weren't opening and he and us were hopping backwards and forwards as we and he were too close for them to start working.
Popping out again to do a couple of errands next and this afternoon a trip to OH's hospital eye appointment. It will be the rush hour by the time I go to collect him and bring him back. :-S I may call in The Range after I drop him off if their car park isn't full. I need a couple of hand towels and may find some curtain hooks!

Morning everyone,
My pc is telling me there's a record high and its 10 degrees and says mostly cloudy and to expect three rainy days ahead starting Thursday.
Left knee and hip is letting me know it had to work hard yesterday around Holsworthy.

Ann I wouldn’t mind if they did just cancel it. Nowhere have they given any clue what it is for.
Well my feelings for late January and February must be well known by now. Bad memories, T’s death and funeral during Covid.
Vera yes cancelled appointments are I really annoying, I almost knew what that was before I opened the email.

That's poor that they keep rescheduling your appointments AnnG. It's a good job you hadn't got holidays booked yourself the appointments kept clashing with. You must be wondering if this appointment will stay booked.
Vera I have a few sad dates in this month too. My sister passed away and also my first OH. It's good your OH managed to sort the solar light for the lady and he would have been pleased to be helpful as you say. It would be good if you can get the car back next Monday and it's good your OH is improving. I hope it stays dry for your trip into town and that your back is getting better again.

My memory is getting terrible. I meant to say good luck to Jake for his driving test and to comment on AnnG's many cancelled appointments. That must be so annoying Ann. i reckon they'll give up making appointments soon. You'll just be sent an instruction manual on how to do your own check-up.

Oh Mandy, I've only just seen your sad news. I can well understand and sympathise with the shock you must all be feeling as that is pretty much what happened with my daughter's partner and we were knocked sideways. It seems so much worse when someone is as young as your great-niece and with little ones as well. My thoughts are with you all <3
It's been a bit drizzly at times but mostly dry and fairly warm. I did 3 loads of washing this morning and sorted out some small jobs that needed doing. The window cleaners came at lunchtime and then another friend turned up with a card and gift for me. It was her birthday a few days ago and one of her gifts was a little solar light shaped like a small rock and you can put it in your garden with a spare door key hidden inside. She hadn't been able to slide the base off to put her key inside so she brought it round to OH to sort out. He managed to open it, smoothed off the burrs on either side that were stopping it sliding easily and lightly greased it. Our friend was pleased and OH felt he was doing something useful so it was good for both of them. OH is so much better over the last 24 hours but he has agreed not to go climbing up ladders for another week or two at least. He'll finish all his tablets on Sunday so, if he is OK, we are planning to get the car next Monday. So tomorrow I'll be getting the bus into town again as I have to get my meds. It's no problem going but if I get through my bit of shopping quickly I could have a long wait for a bus back.
I've said before how much I hate February; so many of the bad things in my life have happened in this month and today is the anniversary of my mum's death in 1974. I do miss her. A favourite aunt also died in February and her funeral was on this day as well and Friday is the anniversary of my dad's death in 2006 and that's just a few of the horrid things that have happened in February. I think I'm going to forget about February altogether and be like royalty. I'll have an official birthday in May or September, my favourite months.
I have a phone call to make and time is getting on so I'll wish you all good night. Sleep well.

Back now and had a COT and a belgian bun, naugty but nice. Hav'nt had one of those for ages and it was nice and fresh too.
I am so sorry I missed your post Mandy but what a shock you've had. Those two small children. Had she known she had something wrong or was it quick? She will be in my prayers, God Bless her.
I went out in the dry and came home in the rain. Its now getting chilly so I think I shall have the heating on for a while.

Mandy how very sad about your Great niece, so young and her poor little children too to lose their Mum so young. I hope her prognosis is better than expected and she has longer with her children.
Adding my good luck wishes for Jake for Thursday.
Mel I too have Hyasinths in the garden they seem to appear suddenly when I was not looking. And by crocus are a bit flattened as well, maybe we had a frost and then rain, the frost would have made them lie down and the rain would then flatten them

Afternoon All,
Glorious sun here and a springlike day, so we were up early, showered and went for poached eggs on toast to a garden centre. I was annoyed as I wanted to get a couple of the plastic baskets for under the uti sink to put the small items in and forgot what size I needed. I noticed our shorter stemmed daffs in the front garden were about to flower but the buds are smaller than usual so maybe the hot summer we had is the reason. When I went to see the snowdrops a row of daffs sheltered by a wall were in full bloom. We called somewhere else and found a new kettle like I wanted at last on the way back! I might pop out again later to look for a birthday card for OH. Nice mens' cards are so hard to find!
No it woudn't have been ideal travelling with small children AnnG. The first time I went abroad was when I was aged 16 with the school on a canoeing holiday down the river Rhone to Avignon in France with a week camping above the beach among pine trees near Nice. Several of us had free canoe lessons as our PE teacher's boyfriend ran a canoeing club on the river Soar. Mum refused to let me go for ages, but my best friend was going and I said it could be both my birthday and christmas present and she relented. Otherwise I think I've only ever been abroad four times, just to europe and Jersey. There are places I'd like to see, but not the getting there or any heat! I got 2nd degree burns with a long sleeve jumper on so was taken to hospital with another girl on the canoeing holiday and also got heatstroke!
No Mandy I got sidetracked so no paints out, but I hope to today as I've made space now. I sketched something out ready a while back and have decided to paint that now when I can find it. :-D Yes, as Gwyn says good luck to Jake with his driving test and I hope he passes this time. He could be taking you for a spin then!
Oh I just saw your later post and what awful news about your sister's granddaughter. What on earth can you say to someone after such bad news and two little children are going to be without a mum in the future as well. She is so young as well, no wonder you are all so shocked.
Gwyn, yes you have had lots of appointments and tests this year. OH has another visit to the eye clinic tomorrow to see how the eye inflammation is doing. It's looking good to us but he still has months of eyedrops to gradually reduce. He is busy as you say and enjoys what he does and it gets him out meeting different people which he was used to in his work before he retired.
I hope Vera's back is a bit better and that she has kept her OH from getting those steps out!
Mel the crocus that were with the snowdrops at the church I went to were flattened too. I think it must be all the rain we have had that has caused it. It's a shame though. Yes, go on a trip to Holsworthy with your library books.

I meant to say my hyasyths are flowering in the garden. They were covered up with dead fern fronds and I spied a little colour yesterday so pulled he dead stuff up and blue and pink flowers beneath. So then I looked on the rockery and the blue ones are flowering there too and a purple primrose.

You know that ENT appointment on 1st april that was rescheduled for 22 April (Tewkesbury) and then re-scheduled for 29 april? Well it has just been rescheduled for 20 May. I wonder why they bother? Why not just cansel as, I am pretty certain it is just box ticking.
