Morning All,
I've been awake since 3.00am so got up early this morning........OH is still in the land of nod! It's got a bit windy here now and the fence men are nearly done next door which is good and the fence is exactly the same as that they replaced so no privacy lost which is good as all her family and visitors walk down the path past our patio to her back door. :-D She doesn't use the front door because of the dog getting loose and even has to have her post box on the outside wall as he rips everything to shreds that comes through the door.
Yes the actress who plays Meena is really good and I find her quite scary, but what is she living on now and where, if she has no job? It's more murder mystery than the sleepy farming village it used to be. I wonder when that box she buried on Liam's allotment will be found?
Oh he really is a big Elephant Mandy! Yes some cheaper chunky wool is a good idea or he would be a very expensive Elephant. :-0 We aren't going anywhere today either, not even a short walk, so I'd better do some pedalling instead and at least some HW, maybe the bathroom.
It is half term here AnnG so maybe me mentioning it made you think it must be half term where you are.
I hope not but you might lose the internet with these winds Mel. They said this morning that 20,000 homes are without electric in Cornwall.

Good morning Mel, Mandy and everyone who blows in today.
It was lovely sunshine an hour ago but the wind has got up now and is gusting quite strongly, supposed to have blown over here by 12 o'clock and then just be windy, we shall see, I am not going out. Stay indoors everyone. :-) :-)

Morning all,
Little bit of sun trying to peep through the clouds this morning but it doesn't last long as the wind is blowing the grey clouds over .not to much wind when we got up but now I can see the trees blowing about a bit and the weather vane is swinging on the church tower .
No going out today ,keep safe everyone .

I can't stand all the shouting on the soaps thats why I stopped watching them plus the fact we used to go ringing when they were on and I dn't think I have watched any emmerdale, corrie or any of the others since I have been with oh and thats 25 years this year.
I have put my old wheelbarrow behind the big ash tree with the new one so it dos'nt blow about and I think everything else is safe. I feel sorry for the daffodil growers as a lot of those will be flatterned. My 7 on the kitchen window sill are lovely and sunny up there in front of the sink.

Mandy, strange Leanna died but Meena survived. Same bridge. She is a very good actress but it is getting a bit unbelievable all the killings, hopefully she won’t get away with it for ever.

Ann I think she would like the Elephant, I had a look and the Merino chunky wool is about 8 pound a ball !!!!! he takes 4 balls in the grey and half a ball of cream ,think I might be doing it in a cheaper chunky wool lol he's big about 271/2 inches tall .
Anng I was surprised Meena survived ,think the story line might be going on a bit longer ,it's one of those stories lines you think now why did they do that
Hope your OK Mel its going to be bad over you with z red warning ,we're on Amber tomorrow, keep in and keep safe everyone.

I think half term here is next week. I had thought it was this week. Glad you had a good walk Ann. Funny to see the moor hens in the photo not knowing they were there.
I am hoping we are soon going to see the last of Meena (Emmerdale for those not in the know) such a horrible character but a good actress.
Mel I hope you have everything tied down I think you are well in the red warning area.

You certainly got plenty done today AnnG! I did go out but within half a mile of driving off it started raining a bit, but I persevered and carried on. The sun came out again so I went to walk round the same park where the ice house is that we went to the other day. I quite expected the car park to be full with it being half term, and to have to turn around and come out again, but no it only had half a dozen cars. I saw 3 dogwalkers and a sweet little jet black dog carrying his ball trotted straight up to me expecting me to throw it, which made me smile. All the dogwalkers said hello which was nice and I took a few photos and I found walking a bit easier than the other day so that was good. One photo I took across a field had a large puddle near the gate. When I got home and looked at it I noticed there were 2 Moorhens in the water!
I just watch Corrie and Emmerdale, but could never take to Eastenders or the one with John Cleese in about a hotel. I watched Casualty years ago but not now and have never watched Holby City. We still watch repeats of Open All Hours! Oh yes I can hear the Emergency Ward 10 music now.
:-) Katie got herself a bargain with her ring Mandy and your crochet book of animals sounds good. I bet Katie is hoping you will make her the Elephant. complete with a heart on the bottom! You've got a good system for getting the logs in and good idea to have things charged and ready for Eunice!!
We'll be surprised if the fence gets done tomorrow if it's bad. She's put her bins over the gap to try and keep the dog in as he has no recall and just runs off if he gets out. At least he can't get out of our garden if he does find his way in though.
It's supposed to be really bad tomorrow in the SW so I hope you don't get any damage Mel.

AnnG, I meant to say earlier that I hope you didn’t think I was casting aspersions on anyone who watches soaps. If what I said came across like that I apologise. I was only saying they’re not to my taste but we’re all different , thank goodness. In the 60s and early 70s I used to watch Corrie and Emergency Ward 10 - remember that?
Batten down the hatches and stay safe tomorrow.

Vera yes it was a mess to sweep up as soil had tipped out of the box that held the pots but it was easily sorted tomorrow could be a problem here we have a red warning. I am pleased Indon’t live in the flood area. I think we could be hit pretty hard with the wind though so hope I have made it as safe as I could

Ann we didn't make anything ,we did a little shopping , I had to go into Boots to put a prescription in and we had a look on their stand that had jewellery and bits and pieces all reduced so Katie picked out a pretty little ring reduced from 6.50 to 2 pound and then we went into the works where she got a new journal for school ,I bought a crochet animals book in there but my word some of them are a size so will take quite a but of chunky wool ,Katie liked the Elephant and they all have little crochet hearts sewn on their bottoms.
Mel I hope your chickens house is battened down ready for the storm ,they won't like the wind will they. That's lovely news of the engagement congratulations to them both .
Oh Anng fancy seeing a little hog in the garden in February that is early for them, I bet he/ she will be back for more food .
Yes Vera logs all delivered and put away , Colin loads the barrows ,son and dil push the barrows round as we have to have it tipped on the road and I start stacking in the wood shed ,the children help to . The chap who brings the logs usually puts extra on for us as he use to work with Colin and he says he's a good old boy so I've put you some extra on :-D
I've charged up our torch and my phone in case the electricity goes off and I also got the little gas camping stove out of the shed, we bought it years ago in case the electricity goes off in a storm and haven't needed to use it so far but at least we'd be able to have a hot drink .

The wind has calmed down a bit after last night’s hooley but I guess it’s the proverbial calm before the storm. It’s not looking good for tomorrow. I wouldn’t think it would be a good day for your neighbour to get her fence put up Ann. Her workmen will be cursing if the wind catches one of the panels.
It’s a nuisance that your stuff got blown about AnnG but it sounds as though your bulbs will be OK. Our neighbour had some pots blown over but everything is OK in our garden so far.
Congratulations to OH’s niece Mel. It’s always good to hear some happy news.
I hope you’ve got your logs delivered and safely stored Mandy. Are you exhausted now? At our old house we would have a load of logs delivered and they would get dropped on our drive. I remember it was blooming hard work moving them from the drive to our log store round the back.
I had a long list of things I needed to do today. So far I’ve managed to give the fridge a thorough clean out and change an ink cartridge in the printer. I don’t know where the rest of the day has gone so I had better get on.
Keep safe in Storm Eunice.

We don;t seem to have had too much damage as I went up the library this morning so drove outside the wall.
I was cleaning the chickens out as thye were so wet in their house as I am putting water in there at night with food too so I don't have to rush round there in the morning to feed them. As I was going through our little wood to the bonfire with the dirty shavings I spied the van up inthe car park. Had to empty the barrow and get back to the house to change my boots and go to the loo and get my books together and thought I was going to miss the van but I did'nt. Julie had had a day off so it was a different man on there. Came down and it was time to get lunch but I did do a tiny bit ont he project beforehand.
Anng its not unusual for a little hog to come out in February if they need to feed and the weathers not too bad. They can get through very tiny holes or under your fence by digging a little dirt out. Please carry on feed it so it stands a chance for the coming spring.
Right I need tio wash up and then get back in the lounge to my craft. Oh is watching the curling. Its the USA against England and they are so noisey shouting at each other all the time.
Ann it won't be a good day to put up a new fence tomorrow as the winds suppose to come back stronger tomorrow. I hope she dos'nt put the trellis bit on the top so you don't lose yur privacy but if she does you could put some of that green plastic netting up there the very close together stuff.

I haven't seen the little hoglet since but the rest of the food has gone, as Cynth did catch a glimpse of Skinny earlier I guess it might have been a four legged hog that cleared the food up. Unfortunately we found before that cats like hedgehog food too.
I spent half an hour in the garden cutting down as far as I could, the three Buddleias. I had to use the pruning saw on a couple of branches and some were even too thick for that so I will have to wait until another dry day and get the tree lopper on them. At least, even if I did no more, they are ok for this year's growth to start. when I came back indoors I hoovered and dusted the lounge and dining room and cleaned the inside of the lounge window so with having done bathroom and bedrooms a couple of days ago the house is more or less clean all at once for a change.
Did you get your walk in Ann?

Morning All,
Slept well eventually as we had really squally strong winds earlier. I got up to look at our pine tree a couple of times and it looked like a tall can can dancer ruffling her skirts with the wind.
Neighbour called round earlier to say she is completing the new fence down our side tomorrow as the wind has blown one panel out next to our patio. She did halfway along our side last year, lowering it a bit and with open trellis at the top and I'm wondering if she will complete the length now with the same. If she does we will lose the privacy on our patio next to it and her security light will dazzle even more. She seemed to think it funny when she told OH it will be bark, bark, bark tomorrow with her dog at the workmen who will be doing it.
It's lovely and sunny here at the moment, no hint of the storm to come so I will do another short walk soon, perhaps around a churchyard that I know has snowdrops. :-D OH is in meetings all day so can't come with me, so I don't want to go wandering off the beaten track anywhere on my own.
I hope you've got your logs stored away now Mandy. What have you and young Katie been doing/making while she's been staying with you?
Sounds like you had a bit of mess to clear up AnnG but at least the bulbs weren't damaged and now everything is safe before the next storm. I bet that little hedgehog was grateful for the food and if it was a small one it might be best to keep feeding it if you can.
Better get changed and get going now before Eunice catches up with me!

I have just had to clear up the patio. the box containing the growbag ane sticks etc for tomatoes against the wall had blown off the bricks with the white board behind and the pots were upside down on the patio with all the bamboo sticks. One had a herb in but the other two had bulbs just coming through, just the tips and they didn't empty and the tips are not harmed. I have also put the two chairs and table from the patio into the conservatory and turned the other ones on the lower patio so they are laying down. Jammed the wheely bins (all almost empty into corners and hope they are safe. I hate wind
I had a small hoglet in the garden this morning. Gave it some hedgehof food which was quickly eaten then it scuttled off. Have no idea how it got in the garden, no gaps anywhere as far as I can see. Not sure it should be out and about this early.

Morning Anng,morning all,
I haven't been on here because we've had Katie staying the last couple of days . The wind has been blowing well in the night and tomorrow looks really bad so its batten down the hatches I think. Suns shining and it does seem a bit cooler than yesterday which was 14 degrees . We have a load of logs coming this morning so hopefully we can get them all away in the dry . Hope everyone's OK I'll catch up with all the posts later .

Good morning all bright and sunny here and 7 degrees. Truly the calm before the predicted storm. I might have a look and see if I can nip a bit more off the buddleia if it stays fine. I got quite a few more pieces into the jigsaw yesterday but not in the sky, still it is growing and I quite like the challenge.
