Mel that will be nice to have a beef roast cooked for you ,is OH a good cook when he does cook or does he keep asking how to do it .

Anng it sounds as if that 1000 piece jigsaw is going to take forever to do aren't you tempted to give up and try the 500 piece one.

Max is laying at my feet he's worn out lol the children run him round when they come .

Morning Anng and all,

Just about the same weather here today, wet windy dull and dreary and pc also says raining now as if I did'nt know!! No temp on mine either but the weather station says 8 degrees.

Oh says he is cooking dinner tomorrow for my birthday he has bought a huge piece of beef so I am expecting a full roast dinner which is something we don't often have, well the beef anyway.

Hoping I can get some craft done today. I did have a little fiddle yesterday but undid some of the work I had done as I knocked something off I had stuck on so had to glue it again.

Good morning. Damp, dull and windy here this morning No temp on PC just says rain to stop.
Just Tesco planned for today then I must attack the jigsaw. Spent ages yesterday pulling out all the wood coloured pieces. given up on the sky bit for now. Sent daughter a photo of what I had done and she pointed out a mis placed piece. It was easier for her to see then me. :-D

didn't sleep too badly and now have bedding in the wash so an early start.

Gwyn yes I am sure things will get easier as time goes on. Talking to daughter (be email) just now. She said after the first anniversary of Jon’s ( her husbands ) funeral she mentally thought she would not try and remember that date as it was not necessary. And I suppose she is right. I didn’t find today as hard as the anniversary of his death. Maybe now it can become just another day Time to try and look and move forward.

The tele would be one of the things they would take I would have thought .
I think I would put up in a cushion or in the hem of a curtain . :-) it must be in something that a burglar wouldn't want to take .

Annx Report 12 Feb 2022 19:41

I haven't quite given up on the stick Mandy, but it's not looking hopeful after all this time. We did get the bedroom drawers out to look underneath but I don't think I was likely to put it there after OH said burglars just pull drawers out and tip the contents out. You mentioning sellotape has given me an idea that I might have taped it to the back of the tv on the wall though. I'll get a mirror and have a look tomorrow. Yes, I did check the pockets in the clothes. Maybe I put it somewhere else in the bungalow after all so it might turn up yet as I work my way around.

No Vera I have another one that is the same too! He prides himself on being able to tidy an area like the garage quickly and I admit he does........but, in our garage he has put heavy things on top of lidded plastic boxes and bent them and he has no idea about keeping things you often need handy. He even asks me where he has put things, so it's no good me asking him where things are is it? :-S He messed around with kitchen cupboard with tins in once, putting the oldest dated things in a row across the front, instead of keeping them at one end. You couldn't see anything that was behind. lol.

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Feb 2022 18:36

Ann you really are having a good clear out ,I suppose you've given up on finding your stick thingy after all this time , you would have thought it would have turned up with all this clearing out ,did you check all the pockets on the clothes you turned out .
Look under these draws your clearing out you might have sellotaped it under one of them .

I like the skating to Ann and the bobsleigh, there's been a lot of curling on too.

Mel if that was a teaspoon the egg was tiny .

Vera I can never find anything when Colin has tidied up ,we have two freezers in the shed both chest freezers ,the big one we use all the time the smaller one we usually keep for Christmas bits and then turn it off for the summer but last year we kept it on as we stocked it up because of covid .

Thinking of you AnnG on this day of memories <3
We never forget the significant dates, but I found that once the 1st anniversary of each one was passed, it did get a little easier to just quietly remember without the same depth of sadness.

Vera, I had to smile about your OH putting things away in different places.
Generally my husband was very helpful and would help out if asked, although he never actually noticed for himself what needed doing.
He was fantastic at ironing ( being ex-Service ) and would often iron several sets of uniform at a weekend so that it was ready for each of the 3 children to wear to school the following week.
One day he decided to reorganise the kitchen cupboards and with male logic he put everything back, like with like. That sounds OK, but the used-once-in-a-blue-moon Pyrex took centre stage with the ones that were used several times a week. and it was then difficult to reach other frequent use items pushed to the back of a fairly deep cupboard :-|
I thanked him for cleaning the shelves and said I would call into his place of work and reorganise his office the following week.
He took the hint.
Bless him, he was a fantastic Dad and I do miss him <3

I hope it was a stiff one Vera.

I hav'nt done much today either. I did go and look at my project and had a tiny fiddle but then I had to do the chickens and came in and made a COC and a scone each.

What strange eggs Mel. Putting the spoon in the photo as a measure was a good idea except it could have been anything from a coffee spoon to a tablespoon. From what you’ve said I guess it was a teaspoon.

A day of memories for you AnnG. You have coped so well with the first year. Next year will be a little easier.

You've been busy with sorting and clearing Ann. I intended to do more cupboards but can’t seem to get motivated today. All I’ve done today is wash the towels and cut down three mini budleias that are in big tubs in the garden. It was bright and sunny outside but there was a bitter cold wind. I was glad to come in.

A little while ago OH had to sort out the garage to make room for another freezer and NOW I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING :-|. I eventually found some seed trays and pots in a cupboard with his old heavy fold up work bench in front of it but had to wait till he came back from a walk to ask him where he had put the big saucers to go under pots. Of course, all the things that get used once in a blue moon were easily accessible. Is it just my OH that seems to get things back to front?

Bless him, he has his uses. He has just bought me in a drink :-)

They were both soft shelled and the little tiny one has gone in the dustbin. The other one I want to open to see if there is any yolk in it at all if not its whats known as a Cocks Egg. Perhaps I should have put my hand down with them laying on my palm so you could realise just how small they are.

Not an ostrich unless it lays eggs the size of a sixpence and old half penny.

Afternoon Everyone,

We were up late today to a very windy and chilly morning and the PC says rain is on it's way. :-S OH is at a match only 3 miles away where they built a new gym recently so I hope it has some shelter or he will be like a drowned rat when he gets home.

The end of a year for you now AnnG and another sad memory. <3 <3 I hope and think next year will be better for you, even with some sad moments, but you have done such a lot this last year to sort your house and garden out and have coped with it all which is good. Enjoy your chat and coffee with your friend and I hope your friend Cynth is ok and getting through all there is to do at these sad times.

Oh my goodness Mel!! What a whopper and I expect it may be a double yolk too. One of my poached eggs this morning was a double yolk. I bet that took a bit of laying and a few ouches!! I hope your project is going well.

I have managed to sort out and chuck out some things from the kitchen drawers and drawers in the porch cupboard and swapped some of the things I hardly use to a drawer in the uti. I will empty them and wipe them out on another day as it's gone really dark here. I tried some old tapes I have in my old radio cassette and it chewed them up and there's no sound from the radio either so they have been put for OH to chuck out along with a pile of old dusters!

Mandy I have been enjoying some of the Winter Olympics. I like the skating and I thought the snowboarding looked terrifying!! :-0

Afternoon all,

Ouch Mel good job the big egg didn't have a shell like the little one that would have scraped a bit on the way out .

Morning Anng and all,

We have a sunny morning but its still cold out there and pc says 7 degrees and sunny with a pic of a clear round yellow sun.

Thinking of you today Anng the first year is always very hard so sending love. <3

Have to do the shop for the paper today then hopfully get on with my project. I must remember some milk as we are running low and have to get round to Tuesday for the delivery.

Hope the others slept well. I only got up once in the night too.

AnninGlos Report 12 Feb 2022 08:20

Good morning all, a bit grey here but PC says 6 degrees. I slept well last night and woke around 0745 which is good for me, got up once for the loo early.

Today a year ago was my lovely Tony's funeral. Hopefully I can now go forward without counting the days, weeks, months. It is the last in a year of difficult days. I have a friend coming for coffee so hopefully a nice chat and a laugh with her will eliminate the sad memories.

Vera we shall expect a photo of your earrings after your birthday of course. :-)

Annx Report 11 Feb 2022 21:15

It's half term here now too Mandy so OH has no meetings next week. He's had so many lately it will give him chance to catch up.

My sister wouldn't want me to be sad, but it makes you reflect and reminds you to make the most of your own lives and be grateful even for the smallest, everyday pleasures we have.

Vera I do like the sound of your earrings as you describe them. You will look the bees knees in them. I must get on with sorting my kitchen cupboards and drawers as well, but I didn't want to do too much after our short walk.

Now I must do more of the Asda order for Sunday before I forget again.
