. Cynth ran me down to Maxine’s with a tin full of the cards I have made for her to sell for charity, about 20 birthday and a similar number of Christmas cards. That she bring in a bit for her charities.
Pleased that you had an ok night Vera. That is a long time to still be positive isn't it, must be more than ten days which seems to be the norm. I hope you soon get over the exhaustion feeling.

Morning ladies
I’m glad you are feeling a little better Island and that Mel’s hip pain is easier today. Don’t overdo it, either of you. I hope Mandy is improving as well.
I slept quite well with only one bad coughing fit during the night. I’ve been coughing on and off all morning but I can cope with it during the day. We’ve both tested positive again this morning, though we shouldn’t be infectious any more. There’s no compulsion to stay home anymore though we have tried to protect others by not going out. We haven’t been outside our home for 14 days and it’s now 13 days since we had a few ladies here for a birthday tea so I think I might risk a quick trip to Sainsbury’s tomorrow lunchtime when it is usually quiet. We’ll wear our triple layer, close fitting masks I bought at the start of the first lockdown.
I’ve got 2;loads of washing on the line and another load in the machine. I’ve also done a bit of tidying up and now I feel ready to rest again. I do get tired at times but this feeling of complete exhaustion is something else and I don’t like it. I’m having to make myself do things. OH is doing a painting job in the garage which is totally unnecessary but I haven’t said anything as I think he is trying to keep himself busy..
That’s enough of my Covid moans. You’re right Island. We should rename the thread Tales from the Sick Bay ;-)

Morning Girls,
It bright sun ot the back and grey cloud out the front this morning and 14 degrees and pc says mostly cloudy.
I'm pleased Island is feeling better now and is able to get on with things she wants to do. As she said its just our Mandy and Vera now. My hips are a lot better today and I slept well But I got up in the night for the loo and stubbed my little toe on a box of oh's woodturning and its really sore.
Made a big stew yesterday so there's plenty left for today and to make a meat pie so another dinner for the freezer.
Stay safe whatever you're doing and love to all. <3

Good morning Ann and everyone,
The sun is shining brightly now with plenty of blue sky after a cloudy but mild start. I think we are due for rain and strong winds through The Channel later.
My body clock is still working to BST, so I took advantage of our cheaper overnight electricity rate and have washed a load of clothes, which is now hanging on the airer.... all before 8 o'clock :-)

Island I have heard of that being done before — leaving the clock but I couldn’t do it. It would be strange to be out of sync. But I do watch TV and meet people etc and go to meetings so it just wouldn’t work for me. Is it just that you have an aversion to changing the clocks back to GMT? I have actually heard of it the other way round somebody not putting clocks forward to BST.
Pleased to hear your pain is better, shame you were unable to get out to do arty things.

Hi all
Thanks all, my pain has eased considerably but I am still waking far too early. I just want a good nights sleep :-| So now we just want Vera and Mandy well on the mend but now Mel is in trouble with her hips and back. This thread should be renamed 'The Sick Bay' Mel, it would be worth you looking into getting a new softer, mattress I think.
I think that torrential downpour was nationwide - it scotched my plans for a couple of hours outside this afternoon. Arty crafting in the garden room, not gardening.
I didn't bother changing the clock, thought I'd rebel. I don't see the point as I don't go out to work or watch the tele and at least I'll be early for any appointments, giving me time to relax and have a wander round the locale.

Gwyn I did just the same with my pills this mroning.
Sounds like our weather has been about the same Anng as we had a downpour after some lighter rain and then we had a lovely rainbow. its 15 degrees here now and feels quite chilly. I had 5 eggs today so thats full producton. Two of the new one lay in the house and one lays in the nest box.
Going to go and corn them all now as it will get dark early tonight.

I was so pleased that I cut the lawn early as about an hour later we had a heavy shower and ever since we have had brilliant sun interspersed with thundery showers so if I had not done it, it would not have got done today. what a shame your plans were rained off Gwyn, still better to stay in the dry

Well done Mel for getting a few jobs sorted and others organised to be fixed. It's always tricky when you need new contacts to help you, but it seems that you and AnnG have both found some good workers.
Vera, I hope you manage to get rid of that cough soon, as it really seems to be pulling you down. It must have felt good to manage some small tasks for yourself, even if you want to be up and doing at your usual pace. So many people have said that it's the tiredness which they find hard to cope with, as it just drains so.
I hope Island and Mandy's pains are easing too. I saw new fat quarters and different yarns in Aldi last week and I can imagine that Mandy is itching to get back to her crafts, especially with Christmas coming up.
Any news from Annx. ? ..I hope all is well
I was awake early and then tried to work out when best to take the first medication of the day, which I usually take on waking. I decided that half an hour later today, then another half hour later tomorrow would put me back on track without too much time difference day to day.
This morning was dark and wet... almost as if someone had pressed a switch to say 'That's it, summer's over. It's autumn now '. It's actually brightened up a bit now, but too late for us to reinstate a trip to Canterbury, which we decided we could do without in pouring rain :-|

OK Mel we get the gist.
Sorry that your cough is still bad Vera no wonder you have no energy. Are you managing to sleep OK If OH is better could he take your phone in for a new battery?
I have just cut the lawn, each time I do it I hope that it is the last time. I say lawn it seems to be more weeds than grass I should dig them out I suppose and let the bare patches grass over but that is a lot of bending which hurts mt back. I think it is the yellow celandines that have spread over the grass this year, never had that before.

Good morning AnnG and all
It’s quite warm but dull and wet. No gardening today I’m afraid. I did do a little bit yesterday but there’s still lots to do. I have no idea what I am going to do today as I’m still coughing and spluttering and have no energy so it might be another day of just flopping.
On top of everything else my phone is playing up so I’ve had to leave it switched off. I think it needs a new battery but can’t get to the shop to sort it out at the moment. It’s annoying as nearly everyone uses my phone to contact us even though we have a landline and OH has a mobile as well.
That’s good that your man can sort out the shower and lights for you Mel. Whenever anyone on here has to have work done I always think of Frank with his MORE EXPENSE.
I hope everyone else is getting over their problems and feeling better now. Have a good day.

Good morning all, hope everyone remembered to put the clocks back. needless to say I was wide awake before 7am.
12 degrees here dry so far but very gloomy. Last night there was a beautiful sunset, so annoying as our subject for October which ended Friday was sunsets and there had not been one up to that point. so we had to rely on older photos that we had taken.

Had the leccy man here and he is going to get me a new shower unit and then see to the lights in the bathroom. I think he said he's coming next Wednesday. Lovely chap and he went to Addicombe school which was not far from the fire station oh worked at for 25 years.

skinny the cat seems to have decided it is almost winter so has taken up residence during the day in my conservatory. He seems to sleep all day so I guess he wanders all night.
I don't seem to have got a lot done today, I did have a new hob cleaner in my tesco shop so I did try that. It doesn't seem to have made a great difference but it is quite clean anyway. And of course I unloaded and put the shop away. Did a bit of admin on here answered emails etc but the time seems to have disappeared, Since lunch I have been down and checked the two compost makers and took veg peelings down to put in one, collected up some trimmings that Andy had left down there and put them in the garden bin I was not sure about putting the holly and Ivy trimmings in the compost the holly branches are quite hard wood.
Now I need to sort out a card for fourth grandson's birthday next week then I can make some more Christmas cards.
Hope Vera has progressed and is able to so a bit of gardening today.
No Island for a few days but I think she had little visitors. hope you enjoyed seeing them Island.

Morning Anng and all,
17 degrees here dull and dampy and rain in the air. Did'nt wake until 9am and then rushed around getting dressed etc for the plumber coming. When I went outside to look at the pond it was covered in leaves so I had to fish that lot out too.
Anng I know the people who own the field next to me and the people who are putting the sheep in there as they are Em's brother and dad and I know they will fence the place well with leccy fencing.
Been bitten all up my shoulder and neck and egs too so I am all itchy today. I hope he can fix th shower at least so I can use it as I aam fed up with washes.
Not sure if BIL is coming today, I think he may as he put another fly catcher in the garage as I took mine out and being new it was zapping them every few seconds.
Hope you all slept well and that Mandy is getting better each day, don't do too much at once of that knitting.
Island too hope your not in so much pain now.
Don't have to do eggs today as I went to Em's in the week.

good morning all, hope you all slept well. I had quite a good night, woke around 4 for the loo then laid awake for a while and finally went to sleep and woke at 0815.
Mel, who does the field belong to? Can you ask them to check that there is nowhere the sheep can get out into your garden? Remind them that they can get out onto the road from there too.
12 degrees here, dull but dry so far.

Had BIL here today all day and he fixed the newer mower that he broke last week and cut the lawns for me. Did a bit more sorting in the garage and I did the big pond filter.
Jim from a few doors away came and said Em's brother and dad were going to put 20 sheep in the field next to me to eat down the rough stuff that they don't mow. I just hope they don't get into my garden like they did once before when mum first moved in here and the sheep got in and ate all the new shrubs she had put in and then went up the top garden and ate all here runner to within a foot of the ground. Thing is they can get on the road from our garden as there are no gates.
