5 subs today and they all went back. Sent round rolls instead of finger rolls laughing cow light cheese triangles instead of Dairylea two huge heads of broccoli instead of the tender stream a sweet butter pastry case instead of a savory one so I should have a £5 something refund. What I did keep did'nt hardly fill the bottom of my plastic box.
Neighbours called round this morning just as I had got dressed and that was a bit of luck as I had been going from room to room naked collecting what I was going to wear today. :-0 We chatted for quite a while.
The suns out here now and its not too cold out. Washing machine is busy and nearly finished so that can go out on the line and there's a bit of a breeze so it could dry quite well.
Hope Mandy had a better night last night and is'nt getting too bored with just sitting around and watching a bit of telly. There's not much more she can do with both wrists out of action. Sound slike the girls are helping though.

Good morning all, dull here too but looks like it is brightening up a bit. Not raining but looks damp. Probably going to The Lizard today if it doesn’t rain. Tomorrow looks like being a wet day. I will have to check but it looks like my DD for energy is less this month so that is probably the bit of rebate.

Morning all,
Asda messaged me at 7.10am to tell me I had 5 subs and most of them are going back.
Dull and miserabl;e here at the mo so I am hoping its going to brighten up a bit as theday goes on. I think we've had that very fine rain in the air as last night everything outside on the patio felt clammy.
Must get tidying today again, the uti room is a mess as I had the corner out where I keep the egg boxes and other things I don't use a lot now and under eveything is a fan heater with a coal effect on it so I don't know what I am going to do with that as I shan't use it andits so heavy I shall have to get someone to get it out for me.

It sounds like you had a bit better night Mandy. Trying to eat must be really difficult with both arms in slings as you say. You can't even use one arm to help the other and the plaster must make them feel heavier too. I expect the anaesthetic you had is still making you tired too. I think they told me after an operation that some is in your system for a couple of months. It's a good idea to keep having a careful walk around the garden though to get a bit of exercise and fresh air. At least this immobility is temporary till the plaster comes off. <3

Good to see you posting, Mandy, but I can imagine that day to day life is quite a struggle. It must have been nice to have a little walk in your garden, but everything is such an effort, no wonder you are tired. I'm a great believer in 'listening to your body' and if it's saying you are tired, then the best thing you can do is give in to it and maybe have a little sleep, as rest helps healing too. I was telling my daughter that you are having to use a straw to drink with and she wondered whether one of those drinking bottles with the flip lid straw spout might help, as you could perhaps hold it between your forearms, if it was't filled much, so wasn't too heavy. I expect you are finding all sorts of ways of coping and I hope you are starting to heal well.
I do smile at the antics of the various OHs. :-) While the ladies are clearing out, they do their best to fill the empty spaces. While the wives are thinking of ways to economise on use of power, they play with their new 'toys'. I remember sorting out a cupboard here some years ago and I found all manner of things, which I swear I'd never seen before. I mentioned it on an old thread on here. There was even a rickety ironing board with a floral cover and wonder of wonders, a map of the Ukraine area...all in Ukranian. I definitely knew nothing about them :-S
I popped into town earlier to put in my next prescription. On a grassy bank nearby, there has been a lovely display of Autumn crocus. They are so pretty, but have mostly gone over now. I do love looking out for them, at this time of year, each year. Lots of reddening rose hips about and still quite a few blackberries near us. I might pick one last small dish of them this week to go with some apples for a crumble. Sharron, who died last year, would be horrified :-0 She always said you shouldn't pick after 29th September, but as I had grown up in Hampshire and not over the border in her Sussex, I had never heard that saying, so I just do my own thing making sure that there are plenty of berries left on the bushes for the birds :-D
Good to see that the weather is allowing you to get out and about AnnG. It sounds lovely, so I hope you continue to have more fine days.
Mel The paperwork seems endless, but it will get done <3 I hope your solicitor is soon well, so that you can make progress.

Mandy sleep when you feel tired. Hopefully you will start to improve soon. The very act of trying to do normal things is tiring. It might be easier to eat with a soon something like mince and mash or pasta bake if somebody could cook it for you.
Vera Enys seems to only be open April until September.
I think it might be the Lizard tomorrow to see if we can get T’s favourite pasties for lunch.

Well that's the mammogram done. I was a bit early, but didn't wait at all and the nurse was lovely and kept apologising for the 'clamp'. I was in and out before my appointment was even due, much quicker than sitting around in waiting rooms at the hospital. The steps leading up to it were quite shallow with rails either side so were quite easy for me. We dropped our prescriptions in the surgery on the way back and the carpark was full, no doubt because of all the jabs being done. We also called in the Co-op for a few bits and they had a sign up saying they would be closing early due to staff sickness.
I'm glad you got to see the Hydrangeas AnnG, something I never have as we always went in May or June. I could just fancy your seaside fresh Haddock and chips!! :-D The footpaths are steep in places like you say and I used to find the the raised wall bit onto the beach a bit awkward to get up.
That's a shame the solicitor has covid Mel, but at least he knew. Better than if he was asymptomatic though and you had gone along. Did you manage to get something sorted with your shower?
OH has his online meeting now and I will get my paintbrushes out I think.

Yes we has a good morning at Trebah. Started with coffee in the restaurant and finished with lunch very nice Haddock and chips. Nearly all food is sourced locally and it was delicious. The hydrangeous were a picture so many different colours. Sadly the Gunneras were dying off. We sat on the beach for a while at a picnic table. I am quite tired now. I am sure those paths have got steeper. Mel the only thatched roof that I saw in Mirnan Smith is the pub.

It's a nothing day here - not cold, but not that warm, not much of a breeze and not much sun. I've got 3 loads of washing out and it's just hanging there.
Hope you got to Trebah Gardens and had an enjoyable morning there AnnG.
I also hope you had a more comfortable night Mandy and are feeling a little better today. Get all the rest you can as rest and sleep are usually the best things for healing.
Ann, our d/w is generally on once a day as I do all my saucepans in there as well and my eco programme seems to get them clean. If I have a really sticky casserole dish I give it a rinse out and a brush round first but most stuff just goes straight in. I think the temp on my eco programme is 50 degrees. On my washing machine I have a "Fast 30" programme which washes at 30 degrees and takes about 30 minutes and I do all our everyday stuff on that, though I do wash things like towels on a longer, hot wash.
However, all my efforts to save electricity are in vain at the moment as OH is playing with his new toy - a weed remover. We have quite a large paved area in front of the house and garage and paved paths and patio round the sides and back and the cracks between the pavers are full of moss. The old "Wet and Forget" he used to use doesn't seem to be nearly as effective as it used to be, so he has bought this electric gizmo that comes with a wire brush and a bristle brush, and he also bought a spare brush of each kind. Well, he spent a good part of yesterday doing the area in front of the double garage and is now doing a similar sized area in front of the house. He's already had to replace the bristle brush and is a good way down the second and the dratted thing seems to eat electricity. OH did point out that though he's using a lot of power now, he will hopefully only be doing it once or twice a year.
Well, I'd better go and make some lunch for the worker. It's usually his job but I don't mind doing it when he is busy.

Morning All,
Sunny here so the washing is on the rotary, but rain forecast later.
Trebah is my favourite I think and the Hydrangeas may still be in flower there, so it should be nice AnnG. Glendurgan is good too and free for NT members. Yes we stumbled across Bonython one year Vera and there is a hut there for you to make a drink. It was quiet there when we went and very peaceful. I'd like to go back as I couldn't manage to walk as far as the third lake then but think I could now. Enys has a long and bumpy road to get there but we saw it when all the bluebells were in flower, the best I've ever seen.
Vera I have tended to use the hotter settings on the d/w in the past as there were saucepans in there, but OH does those by hand now plus measuring jugs as we use them more often and the d/w isn't on every day. I must hunt out the instruction book later as I know it has an eco setting.
I have my mammagram appointment this afternoon, just five minutes away in the mobile at a supermarket. I still hadn't had a postal confirmation (post strike!) so rang them to confirm and ask if it would be ok after having 2 CT scans in the last 12 months. It is ok so I'd better start getting lunch soon with the leftover chicken.
OH's meeting tonight will be on zoom as it seems covid is creeping back and a few people at the school are off sick.
I hope Mandy got more rest last night and that the swelling is starting to go down.

Bonython sounded familiar when Ann mentioned it and sure enough, that was one of the gardens we visited. The other one was Enys. We were there in July and I remember there was hardly anyone about and at one of them we had to make our own tea in a sort of hut and put our money in an honesty box.
I knew that I had mentioned those gardens on Genes at the time but couldn't think where till I thought of the garden thread that several of us posted on regularly and sure enough I found them on there. I did look first at the photos OH had put on the computer from that holiday but he hadn't captioned any of the pictures, so that wasn't a lot of help.
Ann, we use the eco setting on the dishwasher most of the time. I'm not sure how it is eco as the programme takes longer than any of the others but it supposedly uses less water and less electricity. .

I know Vera, and just when I thought I would be saving electric too! It's been good looking throught the instruction book though as I have found ECO settings I didn't know about and which save power so that should help. I seem to have sussed the fan setting too as I used it today and the roast pots and chicken were great. I had trouble judging times when I tried it when we first had the cooker and cakes didn't come out well, so I hadn't used it again for the last 14 years! The book said that was a more economical setting too. I might find the dishwasher and washer books next and try the ECO settings on those! There's no stopping me now. :-) Mum had one of those range cookers when she had the home, but there is a lot to clean on them, so I would get someone in to do it. It's a shame it isn't level. I must look up some of your plants that I don't know. The Echinaceas I do know and are lovely and seem to have sturdy stems that don't need stakes.
That's good your jabs are done Gwyn. They seem to have got the system of jabs off to a fine art now.

Oh what a horrid time you are having Mandy. It is difficult sleeping in a chair but hopefully you will get a better night tonight. You seem to be coping well so far with the adjustments you are making. Let the family run around after you for a change, though I can well understand that it's frustrating for you not to do things yourself when you are used to being so active. Chelsea's a good girl to come and give you a hand. It's lucky that you have family nearby. I hope you make a quick recovery.
What a performance you had with your cooker cleaning Ann, using a double ration of electricity when we're all trying to cut back. As you say, at least it is spotless now. My cooker could do with a thorough clean. I used to keep the hob clean and every so often OH would do the oven but last time it needed a thorough clean we got someone in. I think we'll do that again. I really dislike this cooker which came with the house. It's a big range style cooker with a gas hob and two electric ovens. Although it's not noticeable till you start cooking on it, it actually slopes both backward and to the right. I think it's the floor that slopes but when OH adjusted the feet on the cooker so that it was even, the front fascia board wouln't fit on. Every time I have a moan OH suggests we buy a new one but I feel I can't justify the expense while I can turn out decent meals and cakes on the existing one. I've learnt through experience when to turn tins round in the oven and how to position things if I can't turn them.
I hope the rain stopped for you AnnG and you were able to get out. We were in Cornwall in summer 2018, staying just outside Falmouth and discovered a couple of lovely gardens and, for the life of me, I can't remember the names of them. My memory for names is getting very bad lately. I have fond memories of that holiday in Cornwall. My brother was between operations and was well enough to come with us and we all spent a lovely day with my cousin and her daughter in Truro. Sadly, neither my brother nor my cousin are with us now but the memories of that Cornish holiday are happy ones.
I hope you are having no ill effects from your two jabs Gwyn. We are both having the Covid booster and flu jab next Saturday, one in each arm. We also go to our GP surgery and, like yours, the system always seems to work like clockwork.
I am still sorting things out here but I am nearly there. All sorts of things have been moved around. OH was not very good at finding things anyway but he's going to be hopeless now everything has moved. I only hope I can remember where I've put things. So far there are about 14 books, 6 pewter tankards, i china pot, 2 magazine holders and a silver plated rose bowl to go to the charity shop. There are also about 100 old copies of Family Tree magazine if they will take them. If not they will have to go to the tip next time we go.
OH has just called me to look where he has put some new plants in pots and if he's got them in the right place he'll plant them in the garden tomorrow. We took some not very good plants out and these are to replace them. He spent hours researching suitable plants and then I had to go through the list and say which I wanted. I had to be very tactful as I discounted ones that were the wrong colour for where we wanted them or they weren't hardy or only had a short spring blooming when we wanted summer into autumn, but I managed to agree some on his list. So he ordered 3 of a really pretty Echinacea which are a sort of light salmon pink with a yellowing centre, 3 of a deep pink Agastache (Hyssop) and just 1 Hylotelephium (I think that's a stonecrop). That has very dark leaves and a dark red flower. I also found something called Zuluzianskaya which I'd never heard of but it looked pretty and I thought it would be good in a pot. It needs winter protection so I thought it would be easier to cover a pot with fleece or even bring it into the conservatory.
As usual I am rabbiting on so I'd better wish you all good night. I hope you all, especially you Mandy, sleep well.
