What a good thing your daughters friend did not go to the BBQ, the group are so obviously not a well mannered bunch.....a lucky escape it seems to me, maybe they meant not rich enough and if so they must be surely lacking in manners.
I Think she had lucky escape from some rather sad people

I assume ( I hope) that they will grow out of it.

I take it that we're talking about primary school age children.

Oh we have that in our area ....

One set of parents ask for your post code and they google it ..if it dont suit then their child isnt allowed to play with yours !!!!!

Well I think that answers the question then.

Where do kids get it from?

The parents.

Sad isn't it, but that has to have come from the parents.

I can remember a child newly moved into our area who wasn't allowed to one of my birthday parties because some of the other children attending were from Doc B's home. It wasn't until much later and too late for her daughter, that she realised that a) I wasn't a fostered child and b) what a good standing in the community my parents had.

To be honest your daughters friend has had a lucky escape even tho' she won't realise it for a few years. It does make me mad tho' when parents pass on to their children their over inflated views because there is no-one as cruel as kids.

Lizz that is even worse then as they should have opinions of their own, doesn't change the fact that your daughters friend is well out of it.

Let me tell you an amusing little tale about " posh " youngsters .

A few years ago my OH got a boat ( bit of a wreck that he has worked on to make good ) .......anyway , there was a BBQ at the boat yard ( it isn't a " posh " boat yard , but some of the other boat owners are wealthy ) .
One of the chaps had a big yacht and his " children " where at the BBQ ( he being very close friends to the yard owner ) . By children I mean University age offspring . I had overheard little snippets of their conversation , which consisted of " drinking champers and Lord so and so etc etc ".
OH and I ( being new to the whole circle ) slipped away fairly early to the hang out on our boat and fish .
Come the early hours , when we where happily snoozing , I was shockingly awoken to the loudest and most foul mouthed tantrum I've ever heard !!! and I live on a council estate..........lol
The " posh " thing is such a veneer !
