Many thanks to all that have contributed... so far
My daughter is after information for her Journalism course and is just after views and opinions etc. She doesn't want to do anything like a survey. If you want to private message me instead I am happy about that :)
These were her questions:
What do you think of parent's today? And how they bring up children? Do you think today's parents are acceptable or are they too lax?
Anything else that you feel is important would be useful as well.
5EXY thanks for that and don't worry I take any advice.
Thanks again to all from my daughter
Linda

Nor did the person who used mine.
He certainly didnt come on here to be a nuisance but was made to feel one & was actually ejoying chatting to people about LOTR until the usual "****" happened.
Maybe you should let Lady Mint have her Thread back now?

Sorry Lady Mint. Just didn't want you to get the same earbashing!
Parents today... Thats a hard one because I think where people live effects how (to some degree) they bring their children up & everything today is more in the public eye (newspapers etc) so parents are less likely to allow their children to be "free range". A more "specific" question/s would help? Good luck.

Hello!! Just thought I would pop in and suggest that folk have a good look at the T & C's as there have been some very recent amendments.
Lady Mint, it looks very much as though your daughter *Gives her a quick wave~~~~~~~* is allowed to use the site on your account, with your permission and supervision... especially as she is doing this as part of a project. As her mum and the account holder, you will be held responsible for her behaviour on the boards.... and it seems to me that your daughter was asking very nicely as part of a project, and not causing mayhem, swearing, abusive and thoroughly obnoxious, as I have seen some youngsters do on the boards. Not that I am saying the previous posters son was disruptive... I didn't see the postings so can't comment
My advice would be to contact GR and ask them to qualify the bit in T & C's.... and very good luck to your daughter.
Love
Daff xxxxx
Edit... lol Beverley so happy you added it twice, lol ;¬))
Ann, yes, that is a good idea....
Sue.... brilliant idea... like a song sheet... so everyone is answering the same question....

Yes, it would help to know what aspects she needs to cover. If she was more specific we could perhaps offer more help. I would be happy for her to e mail me with questions if that would help.

Many moons ago when one daughter was conducting a survey re the environment she produced a Q & A spreadsheet which respondents could tick their closest replies and add comments.
I know it's a lot more work initially but your daughter would be able to pose questions to which she requires input.
My daughter then asked for peoples' email addys and sent them the form to complete and email back.
Don't know whether this suggestion would help, good luck anyway.

Hi Lady Mint's daughter.
Parents today are different from those of yesteryear - they couldn't be anything else. Time moves on & modes of living changes/develops - thank goodness. I doubt if any parent of 100 years ago would wish to live again in this generation. The reverse is likely to be true too.
Nevertheless, we should marvel at the multiplicity of ways in which nature & humans achieve the continuance of species, sometimes against great odds of war & general destruction (national & world conflagrations) along with the ever presence of hunger & thirst. Life continues despite efforts of some humans to organise it otherwise.
Parents complain about lack of discipline & respect from their children. Children complain that their parents are old fashioned & behind the times.
Parents moan about overindulgence in drink & other social activities. Children moan & groan at their parents' restrictive hold put on them.
Thus, it has been the same in every generation since Adam & Eve - parents v. offspring. I doubt if future generations will be much different.
Education is important too. In the UK at the moment, it appears to stress 'knowledge' more than character. Why has this country produced so many people of intellect without morals, ability without scruple & courage without honour?
Has the current generation become mere spectators content to witness rather than do? Or, are we continuing to raise up fresh generations of youth just for the awful jaws of war? Horrifying thought.
One of my teachers used to say he pitied us. Why? He said he had lived through two world wars & survived but we youngsters would have to endure the third world war. Let us not end up like a battlefield at rest - nothing but corpses & the crows that pick at them.

hello linda and daughter i think most people do their best in bringing up children right children only get one childhood so everybody should pull together to make it the best childhood possible though some parents should never of had children as they are unalble to look after themselves let alone a child no child asks to be born and its the parents responsibility to care for the child and provide a loving safe home life

This was posted by me the adult ! (I am a paying member) for my daughter, she gave me the words which I posted for her, she is over 16 and is trying to get different views from people about bringing up children for some work she is doing. But thank you for bringing this to our attention.
And I hope she gets some responses to this... I have edited the original question
