I am enjoying reading about the books that everyone is reading or has read. I can't remember not reading and mum used to say "Bridget is always reading and she shuts herself off from the rest of us"! |

They should keep you going for a while. I did buy a Torey Hayden book in Mo******s yesterday because it was only £1.99 and I could slide it in with the groceries. |

Cath, I loved 'Kite Runner' and then my daughter gave me 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' last year for Christmas, which I also enjoyed very much, although it did make me cry a couple of times. |

People who read find it very hard to understand that my OH never reads a book. He skims the paper, avidly reads computer magazines but asked to read a book says "I read one once." He can read, is not thick is just not interested. |

I read at bedtime and often find myself still at it at nearly midnight. OH can sleep through anything! I get through three novels a week at least, and have often finished the books I took from the travelling library so that I havr to go and swap with neighbours before the van is due again. Problem being, I could have more, but where do I put them? I also reread the books i have owned for years. Time i read Gone With the Wind again. |

Oh thanks Ann. I loved the one I've just read and added Kite Runner to my Christmas list. A Thousand Splendid Suns was incredibly sad in parts but also extremely uplifting in others. Roll on Christmas Day so I can get stuck in! |

I've just finished reading 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini and it was a wonderful read. I'm expecting 'Kite Runner' by same author for Christmas and hope its as good. |

Dizzi the Agatha Raisin books are probably better for you as they have a consistent charcter in them and are reasonably easy to absorb. It must be sooo frustrating for you having been round books for many years. I hope we treat you as human on here. What a shame your family don't. They should be ashamed. |
