Trouble is, I read an article which said how useless most of the shop bought antibacterial gels are. I usually wash my hands when using public loos, then also use the gell. |

I agree cpmpletetly about the coughing ans sneezing, I have been very unwell with this awful Swine Flu, been ill for about 3 weeks. Today I simply had to go shopping as there is no one else to do it for me as I am in UK not at home. O deced that I would go late afternoon so there were less people than the peak hours , I wore gloves and I also use the plastic bags when picking up anything which is not pre packaged, Fortunatley I am not sneezzing and haven't done much sneezing throughout this ordeal, However I do believe that we should all challeneg anyone who picks up food then coughs or snezzes etc as it surley does pass on the bugs.#I have always got an anti bacterial dispenser and I started using it when I went to a Health and Safety Meeting at a Hospital and learnt just how many germs there are on taps in Public tiolets so I never use the washing facilities now and when I saw the film with all the deposits on peoples hands I was shocked amd I had been nursing for a long time, The Five minute hand scrub before surgery came flooding back to me. |

The supermarkets could place antibacterial gel dipensers in areas where loose goods, such as fruit and veg are on display. It might get the message across. |

I usually take my ipod when I go shopping. Also I seem to have the ability to tune other people out and just wander up and down the aisles getting what I want barely noticing them unless they're blocking my way. |

Uggers, I think it is because we are made more aware of the need to keep our germs to ourselves. I literally took two steps back in our local shop when the girl behind the counter coughed profusely. I said to her 'thanks, I don't want what you have got'. She replied, 'it shouldn't be infectious' Huh!! |

Drives me mad, Ann. I think people must be influenced by soaps and Jeremy Kyle and think it's normal to go around shouting and being aggressive - and you're right about people sneezing and coughing without putting their hands over their mouths or getting a hanky out - I've noticed people of all ages and backgrounds doing that lately - vile. |

Do you think the screaming, shouting and squabbling is down to the god-awful loud music they play in supermarkets? |

WELL when we did our Sainsbury shop this week I couldn't resist making a comment to a lady who was shopping in the greengrocery section. She had a plastic bag that she couldn't open so she licked her fingers and prised open the bag ! OK no problem but she then used the same hand/fingers to maul the apples picking em up and turning em over for a good look and returning some that didnt pass muster to the display. I wasnt amused and told her so ,remarking thats how germs are passed on. She did a mutter said something about you should wash fruit anyway before moving off a bit sharpish. I wanted the same apples but decided against them and bought some already packed up even though they were a bit dearer and not all the same size. |

Hello Ann, is Saturday the only day you can shop? It may be calmer at another time perhaps? |
