Just leave it to me Emma ................... I will ensure that the force will soon be with you.

I've got an old go-kart in the garage. I can switch the two-stroke engine onto your stairlift and you will be at the top of those stairs before you can catch your breath. It will do 0-12 stairs in a very respectable 1.1 secs.

Don't worry about the blue smoke coming out the back, that's normal for two-stroke engines.

You will, however, need to ensure that your restraining harness is tensioned to 500 lb psi and I would advise positioning an old mattress at the top of the stairs .............. just in case !

Let me know if you need a helmet.

Turnips, where I come from, are those round, yellow fleshed vegetables...no question! lol

To the serious question,I have heard a rumour, and it is ONLY a rumour, that Julia is extremely busy knitting little coats for Eldrick's new lambs...in various colours. bless:-) BC XX

What's all this talk of neeps and haggis?
Julia is in Derbyshire!

I don't do either, I like swede - how could anyone call it a turnip? Turnips are those round white pappy things aren't they?
Poor little haggis's should be left to roam free in the Heelands.

Robin, swede is round, comes in a variety of sizes and is dirty purple on the outside and orange on the inside.
BTW, was your salmon poached?

Still hoping that Julia will burst onto the boards and hope she is ok.

Sori
Have not had time to read all the posts, just got back from over a week in Wellington and was hoping for good news.

Oh dear what can one say... I am rather anxious for her Sue as she always opens her pms... it is a worry.

One month exactly and the message has not yet been opened. I still hope, but feel very apprehensive, too.

Conan Report 2 Mar 2011 23:11

But even a virgin cook like me knows that turnips are different to swedes.

Which one is it ?

And I won't be serving it with haggis ....................... yuk !
( that stuff must surely be illegal )

I was thinking of dishing it up with some of that salmon that I caught early one morning when no one was about !

Florence61

Florence61 Report 2 Mar 2011 22:59

oh please robin, are you having us on? oh well if you really dont know. neeps are short for turnips, except the vegetable is actually a swede.but up here in the far north they call it a turnip! and as for tatties.good old mashed potatoes. the turnip is also mashed.

generally served with haggis(yeeuk sorry) or any main meal we have. sunday lunch, chicken or beef or whatever.

are you having a dinner party? Julia would be proud of you.

Have to agree peeps, especially regarding the non functioning computer theory.....I think Julia would have just popped out and bought another, such was her enjoyment of this forum, it was a great part of her daily life.

Has anyone tried to mail her?
