Urgh.

I didn't want to just add it as the tag end of Wend's thread because a lot of people really do post in threads after just reading the first post, and might not notice it.

So I posted it first as a new thread -- because it is news, whereas Wend's thread was about the current situation and people's thoughts (and, uh, theories) about that -- and then I thought I should add it to Wend's so people who saw that thread in "My threads" might catch it that way.

And in fact I said at the outset that this thread was following on Wend's thread of the same name, and said in that thread: "I put up a thread *to inform anybody who wasn't reading here*, but *for those who have posted in this thread* ...".

Good lord. Is there a shortage of thread space here these days??


And yes, kudos to Sylvia. I was just along for the ride on this one. ;)

please don't blame GR in this case.


This was NOT an announcement made on fb ..... it was their response to a question that I asked on fb




They now have the new Announcement Board on here, and I fully expect that they will eventually post this change back on that board.



FB does seem to be the place where you can pose questions and get a response ....... eventually!


In this case it took over 2 weeks.




That is one reason why I joined fb in January ...... having vowed that I would never never join!



I should have learnt by now never to vow "I will never ever ........"! lol!

When will GR learn that not all members of this site use Facebook !!!!!!!

I think, pure and simple, that JC wanted to be sure that people saw that we had succeeded in getting soemthing changed :))

It was posted on fb because it was in answer to a question that I had asked 3 times previously over a period of 2 weeks!!

In a reply to one of those questions, GR said that the change had been made because "it had been requested by international members".

My third posting of the question pointed out that I WAS an international member, and I wanted times back


I re-posted that again last night

and this morning, GR replied on that thread

Many people agree, DameS.

The Announcements board is interesting, but there is no way to interact wtih site management right here at GR and a lot of people would like to be able to do that.

but i dont see why GR carnt post there info on there own site and why use facebook we pay to use this site not facebook

Following on Wend's thread of the same title -- GR may get around to announcing this on its Announcements board, although it probably isn't momentous enough for that, but in the meantime -- from its Facebook page:


"We will be changing this back to show the time of the posts but you may not see the change for a few weeks yet."


Yay! It seems the "international members" may in fact hold some sway. ;) We *wanted* the times restored. Of course, I imagine at least as many non-international members (aren't we all international members?) did.
