Hope you can get suet in Spain.I made some in the 90's when we lived in Puerto de Santa Maria near Cadiz,but had to leave the suet out and they were missing that extra fat,but things may be different now.Good luck! |

Thankyou IGP and Greenfingers, I was going to make mince pies but we can't get the mincemeat on site so I decided jam and lemon curd tarts might be fun. |

We never do for small tarts, they are not in the oven long enough. Blind baking a pie crust is usually necessary only when it will be filled with an unbaked filling such as with pudding or cream pies or when the filling has a much shorter bake time than the crust and might be ruined if baked as long as it takes for the pastry to cook. |

I would recommend that you keep your eyes wide open whenever you are doing any sort of cooking ................ whether it be baking jam tarts or deep-frying mars bars. |
