Such a sad thing to happen. A young woman with her whole life in front of her died far too young.
My thoughts are with the family left behind ,but it is time the newspapers backed off.

Yes if they want to keep what little readers they have left

Sad thing is that any headline with Amy in it will sell newspapers now and they know this.. and people will buy it
That is how selling newspapers works ...it won't change because there are enough people who want to know anything and everything about these famous people .. dead or alive to make the newspapers a lot of money.

Sadly Henry, you're probably right...

However, some of them have had to cough up because of their outrageously prejudiced reporting and blatant libel over the man arrested, but never charged, for the Joanna Yeates murder. Serves them right.

But Sheila compared with the amount of money they made from sales of their paper the fine was worth it..
It's easy to rant at newspapers for reporting a story but they are a business and their prime aim is to make money .
To make money they have to sell papers, to do that they have to get the attention of the public ..

I hear what you say Henry ................. but I think that the British public's demand upon their red top reading is just about to take one almighty shift !

Sheila I was delighted when I heard on the news, the 2 papers that had been fined also for contempt of court , and not before time in my opinon. I honestly believe that newspapers are not sold purely by the headlines...and Amy certainly didnt, before her death most people wasn't interested in what club she seen staggering out of, but her music is a different matter but sadly that hadnt made headline news for about 6 years. Times are achanging...

And what annoys me more than anything is at the time of Joaana Yeates disappearance, on the same night a local young lad had gone missing, he was on a christmas works doo night out in Manchester and had got seperated from his work mates, after 3days the only way I got to hear of it was through FB, it was reported locally not nationally till sadly 3 weeks later when his body was found, there was outrage as the media were far too busy blackening some poor inncoent blokes name..

I hope Amy cod is kept out the media ,,,,,its none of public interest what she died of thats her families.

Good about them getting fined by the landlord hope it sees him through a good few years of luxury.,,,,a few more should follow in his footsteps, and about time the word,,,,,,Arrested,,,,,,,was stopped being used when someone is being questioned by the law as this gives rise that they have done what ever they are being questioned about and the media dogs go all out to discredit them with sordid muck raking.
