Whereabouts are you going to Sharron? Stoke on Trent is the best place to get Oatcakes. Most chippies in Stoke sell Wright's pies. (my MIL lives near to Hanley and has lots of shops near to her that sells them) |

Well, I have been and tried oatcakes at the shop somebody recommended. The filling was wonderful but I am not ever so keen on the oatcakes. |

as a teenager my me and my friend used to go to hanley stoke to stay with her nan,every morning she fed us oatcakes,baked under the grill on a tin plate(had to be a tin plate)on top of the hot oatcake she put bacon,fried egg and toms covered with grated cheese and put under a hot grill to melt,oh it was lovely.xx |

I've only had them a couple of times from Tesco but I loved them (what don't I like?). They are a bit like a scotch pancake if that's the type you are thinking of? Reckon a bit of maple syrup would go down a treat but maybe not authentic. |
