Not too sure, the size of the regular Kindle is just right around the same as a book but new one is smaller so if you have any joint problems could just be a bit awkward.

Still looks good. As it hold less books, it would be a good purchase for a child or as the one to keep in your bag for the journey to work. Less space taken up.

I have problems with my hands and find my OH keyboard
on his Kindle painful to use as so small and use pencil,
this one is a 5 digit control so maybe OK, saying that when
my hands are really sore I use pencil on Laptop keyboard also.

Hi golden girl

My point is that as it is a smaller version, just holding it if you have joint problems could become painful.

Never used the keypad on mine so do not know about problems with this. But you could purchase a few Nintendo DS 'pointer/sticks' (cannot think of the right word! senior moment) they are cheap, come in many colours and are ideal for use instead of a pencil.

I have seen young people using a stylus with their touch screen phones.

Would not the fact that it is lighter be better for your hands? I have a cover on my kindle and it does make it a bit heavy. Thankfully I don't have a problem with my hands.

I don't think fewer books will matter as you don't have to store those you have read on the kindle, I know my son has over a thousand waiting to be read but I can't imagine ever having that many.

I think OH will have to order one to see how light
it is, OH is heavy due to cover and did note that
covers are offered with this Kindle also, would think
it would be lighter due to children wanting one.

Agree less books is not a problem and the battery on this
one lasts a month compared to 2months on OH one so no
big problem there for me either.

Stylus - my god my memory is just so bad!!!!! Sits here giggling at my pointy thing!!!

As my neice regularly loses her Nintendo stylus I will buy them in bulk for her.

I have about 10 of my own. By myself & OH have Nintendo DS's they come with a couple and I have bought spares as well.

It is a shame that the Kindle does not come with its own stylus and/or the covers have a space to store one.

PP you are sooo clever, a stylus holder thing on
the cover would be ideal, my OH impressed with
your idea.lolx ;-)
