I know it could have been much worse but it was bad enough !
Last night local "kids" threw stones (some quite large) at our front door and car. Then an hour later they came back and threw eggs at the windows. There's only minor damage to the car and the window, and I looked a right idiot washing my windows this morning in the rain.
I couldn't sleep properly last night waiting for the next thing to happen.
Why do they think it's fun to do these things ?!! Back in January when we were egged it was frozen solid we had to wait a few days for it to "warm up" so we could wash it off...at least today it's just above freezing.
Oh well worse things happen at sea......

contact your local PCSo they should make an encreased presence in area. We had that years ago and trying to get it off brick is terrible. x

In some areas they are banning shops selling eggs to children. What a horrid waste of food besides anything else. A pity they can't catch them.

Thanks...I did contact the police after the eggs as it was obviously not just a random thing at that point. Not much hope they caught them though my description was vague "2 people on bikes one white hoodie one black hoodie"!!! and what direction they were going in.
I'm in Canada....maybe the sight of the armed police in the area will put them off =0)

And here's us assuming it is UK. Thought it only happened here.

Sorry you have had this happen. Dont let it upset you, be prepared next time to throw some paint back, especially if you can get some paintballs. What about a cheap CCtv camera? Or a strong security light so that you can identify them.
The reason we check the street when we get up in the night is because there have been attempts to steal cars here. One of us will always go to the door if anything untoward should be happening.

I try to not let it upset me but at times it's hard not too....it's the not knowing who is doing it or why...will they return tonight....trust me if I could catch the little bu&*ers I'd let them know how I feel.

It's a horrible thing to have happen whatever country you live in. I have had it when I lived at my own house, kids get into gangs and think they are clever. They don't realise how they can frighten people especially elderly but these days it's not a good idea to show yourself as people have been murdered if they go out and remonstrate with them, even tho that's the natural thing to want to do.

We get them breaking into garages and such as well, or hanging out under people's balconies near the flats round the corner, they leave such a mess of beer cans and food waste. The police suggested putting down Jeyes fluid disinfectant to deter them from hanging around there but it does only move the problem on to the next building.

I hope the police can show up sometimes to deter the little monsters, bet their parents would be up in arms if it happened to them.

Do you have kids? If so, could it be some neighbourhood yobbos trying to get back at your kids for some unknown, illogical reason?


I haven't heard of egging in this part of Canada.


We've just been hearing fireworks going off outside ....................... they can only be sold here between Oct 25 and Oct 31, and are only supposed to be let off on Oct 31

and they're not supposed to be sold to kids

but kids get hold of them, especially firecrackers, and we'll have them almost non-stop for the next week.

We tend to ignore them, although like most people, we usually run to the windows if we hear strange noises outside!

thanks for the messages.
Yes I have kids and the first thought was the local thugs who tend to bully my teenage son at school...he has speak and learning problems not the biggest case of it but big enough. There's also teenage boys next door and their friends are idiots but I can't say or do anything when they play up as they are at the same school as my son. Lucky enough there was nothing last night though my daughter swears she saw 2 teenage boys with eggs on bikes when her dad was driving her home last night, but they were going in the opposite direction. My son is currently doing weight training to tone up a bit as he's a good height to try to stop some of the smaller thugs !!
You might think we live in a bad area, far from it I can assure you homes going for over a million dollars is not unusal. Anyway I let it be known we'd told the police and I have noticed a presence since Sunday night so maybe it's enough.....like I said it could have been much worse I know.
