JUST A QUICK QUESTION

It is that long since I have sent an e-mail, I have practically forgotten how to do it.
So, I know I type the e-mal address of whom I am sending it to, but what do I put where is says 'cc'. Then it is the subject matter.
Does my e-mail address automatically get printed onto the recipiants copy, or do I have to put it somewhere, so that they know who it is from.
The Grey cells arn't working this morning.
Many thanks

Julia - get your email up - then 'create mail' and click, write address - ignore cc (which means from typing days carbon copy) if you do not have a subject just put 're'.

Your email address will be on recipient's copy.

Hope you can understand this

Julia

you only need to use 'cc' if you are sending the same email to more than one person. Clicking on 'cc' will bring up your contacts list so you won't need to type them all out. Have you made a contacts list? it's much quicker than typing the address out and eliminates the chance of making a mistake and have the mail bounce back.
If sending to more than one person on the same email I think it's best to use 'bcc' - blind carbon copy. Then email addresses aren't passed on to others without permission.

On my Outlook Express account anyway - the email address of the sender is not shown at first sight, so if I want to know it I have to click "print preview " and when it comes up - usually too small to read at first - but when enlarged with "Zoom" the sender's address will come up for you to copy and keep if you are not doing a direct reply

Well, I for one have learned something from Island's post about 'bcc'. I didn't answer the question because it's as much as I can do to send an e-mail myself and also each type of e-mailing (server?) is different. If you're a Hotmail user, Julia, as I am, then I could tell you - or try to LOL.

If I want to see the senders address I need to press 'see details' But my e mail is set up to add to my contacts anyone I reply to.

AnninGlos - thanks for the press "details" hint, a new one on me, much quicker, and good information there!

Just a thought - if the recipient is already in your system - after clicking 'create mail' click 'To' this will give you a list of everyone on the system and then you can chose, so you don't have the hassle of typing out the address-jl
