I feel like a right plonker. Updated 26th Feb

I have been searching for a new job with full time hours for some time. Most jobs available in my area are mainly part time and seasonal. After being made redundant just over two years ago I have only been working part time. My personal circumstances have changed in the last 6 months or so and I desperately need more cash ..... don't we all :-).

The ideal job was advertised last week, within the trade I know best, it's about a ten minute walk from home and the hourly rate and hours are much better than I have now plus I have the right qualifications.

I spent ages updating my CV and downloading my certificates and licence details and composing an e-mail.

Just checked my emails and realised that I have forgotten to attach my CV.

mmmm ... that wont look good to my prospective new employer
:-0.

Have sent another e-mail with ALL of the relevant attachments and apologising for my oversight.

Fingers and toes now crossed

Libby - good luck! I've done that so many times - sent an email without the attachments - a very common mistake!

Isn't it ironic - I'm looking for part-time work and there just isn't anything in this area. I got over 500 hits for jobs within a 10 mile radius of home, but only 8 of those were part-time!

I must have done something right because I went for an interview today.

Came out feeling somewhat confident. Felt that one partner liked me and what I had to say. Not too sure about the other one though :-(.

Will have to wait and see.

One of them was using their laptop and asking abstract questions like "where do you see youself in twelve months time?". I replied "do you mean with regards to work or my private life?". His reply " Either or both. It is up to you". I suppose they were trying to see if I am a "stayer" or a "flitter" workwise.

I realy want this job, it is well within my comfort zone. I worked in this area of trade for eight years and only left when I was made redundant after the Company I worked for went into Administration.

This company is an independent and private employer and they are doing very well tradewise. None like it for miles around as far as I am aware.I am well qualified for the job but would have to brush up on my knowledge.

The other partner was more open and I felt at one point she was going to ask "when can you start?" :-D.
