Havent had one of mine removed in yonks but a couple of years a go nearly every thread I posted was reported for weeks on end for the sake of reporting, I carried on as normal they got bored before I did. :-D

I did but can't even remember the content. That's age for you :-(

It doesn't bother me anymore cos although some people just love playing their stupid 'get the poster' game it's now so transparent it's just laughable.

I had a couple of threads RR'd on the Genealogy Chat board of all places because I mentioned the A******** word. Genes reinstated them so I guess they were reading the posts.

............... and everyone laughed at me when I posted a few weeks ago that there was someone who got their jollies RR'ing posts and threads.

For the record ............... I'm not guilty!

I admit that I have RR'd threads ....... but only foully abusive and homophobic ones.

Never ones that include discussions, or people having fun ... that's ridiculous

............... and I have had threads and posts of my own RR'd ............... one always gets that standard letter that tells you nothing.

You have to email them again, and again a third time, before you actually learn what was wrong. But they will NEVER tell you who did it.

I think before GR deletes a thread/post they should say exactly why they are deleting it so there is no confusion.

It would also save them time in the long run as they wouldn't have all these people emailing them asking why!

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 22 Feb 2012 23:57

yes agree squirrel.
but dont think GR are really reading through thr RRd threads, because if they were, half of them wouldnt be removed.x

Suzanne

I had a thread removed on the night of January 2-3, couldn't figure out why ......... it was warning people to be careful what they posted as several threads and posts had been RR'd during that evening and night.

I did not receive an email telling me that it had been removed, but I emailed them and asked why

They finally agreed that it should not have been removed

I sent another email checking that they had said "should not have been removed", and the reply included the following (remember, several threads and posts had been removed that same night) ...................

"We recieved multiple reports of some posts on the message boards so had to be seen to be taking action. In hindsight some posts were removed that shouldn't have been and for this we do apologise for any distress caused. "

HAD TO BE SEEN TO BE TAKING ACTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I asked for my thread to be re-instated, and they promised to do that, but they had to send it to the developers to do ................. and there the situation has sat since January 9 :-D
