Hubby has got really wound up by this.

I came home at 11pm last night so left the car at top of road.
Hubby just been to go and put it away in garage (which isnt by our house) and found a note on it saying 'dont park in front of my house park in front of your own'.

a) car is taxed and its a public highway
b) the houses are set back up a grass verge and have public pathway between them and grass bank and road so no driveways

what is wrong with people thinking they own the exact spot outside their house, can only be one of three people and can guess which one it is and I parked behind her yesterday

I would deliberately park the same place again. Stick on a note saying when you pay my road tax for my car, then and only then will you be able to dictate where I park my car. ;-)

you pay your tax you park where you like
my neighbours used to knock and ask if they could park on my front
i always said why ask just park hun
our cars on the drive so why would it bother me

We had that with our neighbours in our first house.

We did exactly what Mildred says to do for a few weeks so they got the message, then we reverted to parking in whatever parking spaces were available after that

Cheeky so and so's x

he is very tempted to park there again .

Now when someone parks outside ours we do say oh whos that but never go and put notes on it even if they park over drop curb so cant get in drive just park out on road and wait til they have gone to put car on drive.
and if that is confusing one car goes in a garage other on drive which we paid for drop kerb so we could get one on drive instead of leaving on street whcih isnt wide enough i cars park both sides

as long as you have a valid tax disc and are not blocking access you can park wherever!!! I have a similar neighbour - we call it Road Wars around here. He doesn't even like anyone parking opposite his gates and we have a very wide road. A few months ago I sent him a letter telling him he did not own the road and that we could park where we liked given the above constraints. I didn't sign it as I didn't want to have a confrontation - however, he wrongly assumed it was another neighbour - big mistake - and sent him an appalling response which started off with "cobblers"

I replied pointing out that he made a major error and an apology was due to said neighour as I had written the letter. I then reiterated what I had already told him and said that whether or not he chose to speak to me in the future was quite immaterial to me. Result - he chooses not to speak to me!!! He never apologised for his mistake

He is now in the middle of spending thousands of pounds to ensure no one can park outside his property. He has had his front wall removed, paying to have the pavement dropped by the council - that alone costs just under £700 - and then he'll have very wide gates put on his property which will achieve his aims!!! sad or what!! everyone around here is watching with delight that he's spending all this money more out of spite than anything else

Ann
where I parked has no dropped kerbs as those houses do not have vehicular access to them and there are even bollards on part of it to stop people driving up grass bank.

Is expensive to do drop kerb we did ours as we have an oink of a neighbours son who took great pleasure in damaging our car so wanted it off the road. And if last weekend was anything to go by a good job as him and his mate on an illegal scooter no helmets lost control and ended up in next doors fence just missing the big transit van parked on his drive, they werent happy he saw it all and made them pay for new fence panel .
Arent neighbours fun lol

Hi everyone, I thought I was the only one living with petty small minded neighbours ~ we have a neighbour who have a car each but only one allotted parking space outside their property and they thought they'd worm their way into asking the previous property owner next door to them (they didn't own a car) if they could park their 2nd car in their space, just before xmas these people moved out and new people moved in ~ and they have a big car!!! ~ and it's not leaving a lot of room now for these numptys to get in comfortably, so instead of asking the new neighbours if they could park over a touch they got the community police on to ME to get me to move my car instead as if I didn't have the right to park outside of my property ~ I did have a laugh when I told the police that this was private land and there was nothing he or anyone else can do about it, ~ nothing but bullies these people ~ in other words ~ toys out the pram! sad innit!

when we bought our house the garage came with it, ........BUT the garage is under someone elses flat.......we own the space, but not the fabric if you get what I mean, also the hard standing on the forecourt of these garages is shared by five owners, but the council actually own it and are responsible for its upkeep,

so strictly speaking I cant prohibit anyone parking there.........
