to put in some of the older family photographs - different sizes and shapes.

Can anyone recommend any?

Hi SRS :-)

You need a photo friendly album. Stay away from the self-adhesive ones as the glue will spoil your precious photos. Use acid free products to stick your photos into the album - you can buy these products in craft stores or photography supplies. I use scrapbooking products for my albums but I think most manufacturers are getting quite savvy about what should be used to store photos old and new.

I bought an old victorian album in an antique shop many years ago which I will eventually get around to putting photos in. Car boot and table top sales are a good place to look if you want an old album. Have fun :-D

An old album would be lovely but check that there are no 'rusty' marks on the pages. These are acid stains and will eventually eat through your photos.

Thanks Sue, I think after your initial suggestion, I'll be looking for an album which is acid free. :-D

SRS you could actually make a scrap book of them, you can buy scrap books in 8 x 8 and 12 x 12 and sometimes I think A4 size. The covers in these are all acid free, you would just need to make up the pages.

There are modern versions of Victorian Albums - I have about four and they are brilliant as take all sizes and shapes, tie up with a ribbon - paid about £4-5 each for them in various newsagents.

oooh, thanks for this. I popped into John lewis today and whilst there had a little browse but didn't find any that I thought were suitable.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions...you've given me food for thought,
