Does that include places like our local butcher will charge more for their bacon & sausage baps? Cause we worked out a while a go if we all have one we could buy a cooked chicken !!!!!
:-(

Talking about VAT on a pasty depending on whether it is sold hot or cold is a smoke screen,

Politicians always come up with stupid trivial things for the public to focus on,

It distracts attention from their real agenda?

When it comes to Politics I have yet to understand one thing the Govt has done, no rhyme or reason for most of what I see.

Shame we can't turn all the idiots who came up with this one into pasties. Bet no one would object to paying VAT on them.

I heard an item on the radio where the guy was talking about how VAT was going to be decided on a product.

Like Marshmallows. If they are on a biscuit base - no VAT but as confectionary ie by themselves - VAT.

Apparently he had been reading some mega document that had been put together with the list of everything affected or not affected. He had also spoken to someone at the head of Sainsburys and even he didn't understand it all.

Remember a few years back when butchers got prosecuted for continuing to sell in pounds and ouces.

This nation is even more of a joke that it's ever been .

A real cornish pastie is lovely cold I had them all the time when I was a child, so George Osbourn knows what he can do with his v.a.t

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 31 Mar 2012 15:25

it sure will do mind ive just paid £16.00
for fish chips x3 and a single sausage and a carton of mushy peas

with extra VAT we wont be able to afford it
