Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

Palm Sunday commemorates the arrival of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem
to the cheers of the crowd, who waved palm leaves. This was the same crowd who would later turn against him.

Jesus travelled on a donkey and showed great humility.

Traditionally, the Palm Sunday service begins with the "blessing of the palms," where the palms used in the procession that follows are blessed.

Palm Sunday is also called Fig Sunday, because figs were eaten that day, as a reminder of the fig tree cursed by Christ after his entry into Jerusalem.

In England, Palm Sunday was called Olive or Branch Sunday, Sallow or Willow, Yew or Blossom Sunday, or Sunday of the Willow Boughs, named for the local replacements for the traditional palm branches.

Some Christians display the crosses from the service in their homes during the year as a commitment to their faith.

The religious theme is to reflect on personal faith and commitment.

If you are going to any service, travel safely.

POEMS FOR PALM SUNDAY:

"Palm Sunday is a week before Easter
It celebrates when Jesus rode into Jerusalem town
On a donkey, which walked over
All the coats that the people threw down

The people who didn’t have coats
Went to the fields where they found
Palm branches which they spread
All across the ground

These people knew that Jesus was special.
It was like when a King comes to town,
They didn’t have a red carpet
So they laid their coats, and branches down.

And to this day a donkey is special
Because it carried Jesus with care~
If you look at the back of a donkey
You’ll see a cross is still there"

Best wishes

Dear Puss n Daughter

Hello

Hope you are okay.

Thank you for replying.

Your church sounds very welcoming to people.

In my area, there are a variety of services, some longer than others but the one I like is where people of different denominations meet in the local park for a small open air service.

Hopefully, the weather will be kind.

I'm told that Jesus rode on a male donkey. If you check the male donkey's back, you should see an outline of the Cross.
