Hey does anyone know if it is normal to feel tired and depressed ( weepy at the slightest thing)even 6 months after my gallbladder op?
I can't seem to drop of to sleep easy, no enthusiasm to go out on an evening always panicing to get home before 10 as if I am late going to bed I am still awake at midnight. :-S

Fiona - I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago. Didn't feel like you do (I was glad to get rid of mine).

Please see your doctor! <3

I agree with what has already been said, but you didn't mention your age, so others factors may be involved here. Please see your doctor, as soon as.

The after effect of anaesthetic (spelling !) can last up to 1 year.

Side effects can be sleeplessness, depression, all the symptoms you have. It really does take quite some time for the body to get over surgery.

However, as advised if you are really concerned do go to your doctor who is the only person who can really offer any medical expertise.

All we on here can do is give lay advice and that is not the ideal to go by.

Oh and as said your age can be a factor to sleep problems. I am just getting over the menopause and the main problem I have suffered is with my sleep. Otherwise I have sailed through, much to my relief.

Thanks everybody for the advice, I am in my middle 50's by the way , but have had quite a few family upheavels over the last few years so it's probably due to a lot of stress etc.

Piglets Pal, interesting news about the anesthetic that it could take up to a year to get out of the system, will try & get an appointment at the drs,

Thanks again.

Hi Fiona glad to hear you are feeling better. I know after I came out of hospital after having a heart attack I was too scared to sleep and used it sit up in bed all night in case it happened again, that was 14 yrs ago and all is well now.

Take care
Carol
