Just thinking I've not seen Chris in Wessex on the boards recently? I know she has problems when it's hay fever season so hope she's ok.

It is my eyes this year that are a problem at the moment. We are surrounded by blooming Rape.Horrible stuff it gets right up my nose lol
I do find though if I wear sunglasses it does reduce the watering eyes.
The dog is doing a fair bit of sneezing and after a walk his eyes are running.
He always suffers at this time of year with itchy bits so is on a very small does of Prednisolone daily that keeps everything under control.

Awww poor dog Jane, and you too of course !

With me the main culprit appears to be tree pollen.

Merlin, it is almost as long ago that I last rolled in the hay as it is when I last climbed a tree ;-)

I won't talk about my days of rolling in the Hay lol ;-)Happy Days ;-)
Yes tree Pollen I think is maybe a big problem for me.So many different trees around me,plus a massive Yew Hedge and some kind of pine.I just need to step outside the back door and immediately I feel my eyes going :-S
I never used to have this trouble.Yet my sister who suffered terribly with hayfever seems to have grown out of it, as has my daughter.

Jane, I didn't have hay fever till 1995,when I was pregnant, I don't know if that is significant lol, I did wonder if hormonal changes made one more ( or less) susceptible? On the other hand that was a very hot year so maybe the early pollen was triggered in quantity and I developed the allergy to it?

My eldest daughter used to suffer with it as a child, but when ever we went to the seaside it eased for her.
Tree pollen, is usually the first, and I am surrounded by them. Then crop pollen takes over and then the garden,
.If, when I go to the garden centre and it is a high pollen count day, the OH has to go in, directed by me, to the plant I want.
I do have inhalers, which help when it is at it's worst.
When the season starts proper, our local radio gives out a pollen count for the day, after the weather forecast, which helps.

I had to go and pick up inhalers for my son today. He has started his funny cough and tight chest .
I now can't have scented flowers in the house.Lillies are the worst.I wondered too if it was to do with the old hormones.Who knows! All I know is that it is a right pain in the backside :-S :-S

Daughter has alot of trouble with oil-seed rape pollen and the farmers seem to be planting ever nearer, but guess it's just the rotation of crops in different fields.
A baseball cap and sunglasses with wrap-around sdes do help.

Has anyone found any benefits from eating locally produced honey? We have heard that this can help over the years to ward off the worst of the symptoms.
