The main thing is that you are ok yourself Dizzy, could you try getting the council to replace your walker? Fingers crossed.

Dizzi,
Hope your ok.

Could you get one of the family to go measure the depth of the pothole and take a photo.of one of them holding the tape measure against the pothole.

Then you can claim for a new walker and injuries to yourself.

This is what you need to do or you won't get a new walker outof them.

Worked for a council...

Sue
Edit,

The depth of the hole has to be more than 3 inch deep so get someone round there ASAPto photo that hole. before the council fill it in.

Dizzi I got off a bus while I lived in Norfolk and the road at the top of where I lived had a pot hole a large one. I fell down and had brusied legs and hip and arm tore my new tights .
someone from the shop nearby came and helped me up and took me in and made me a cup of tea. a day afterwards I hobbled to the top of the road to take photos of the hole someone measured the dept.. but I was too late the council came that afternoon and filled it in. I claimed for the tights but that was it. they are so crafty always take a photo of the pot hole if you can before you phone the council.

I suggest that you get a photograph of the hole. Not saying it would happen to you but if the council decide to fill it in very quickly there is no evidence in your favour.

Ah just read Rita's reply. Great minds. It's good to be cynical :-)

Was going to say similar to Rita / get someone down there asap to measure the hole and take pictures before the Council craftily does a quick repair

Dear Dizzi

Hello

You have nothing to be embarassed at all.

These potholes and uneven pavements are a menance.

And as your GR friends have said, photos needed as soon as possoble
of the offending pothole and the area as proof.

The council should definitely be responsible for replacing your walker.

Any fall shakes you up so take thing easy and slowly for the next few day.

For now, take very gentle care of yourself, Dear Dizzi
Very best wishes to you
Elizabeth, EOS

We really are our own worst enemy's aren't we, why on earth do we feel embarrassed when we take a tumble (especially on uneven surfaces)

I am so sorry your new walker has broken and hope you will be able to replace it via the local council

I actually shed a tear at the thought of your granddaughter stopping the traffic - what a little trooper she is - I'm not surprised you are proud of her - she knows your there for her and she's probably feeling proud of being able to be there for you too.

Hope tomorrow is brighter for you :-D :-D

Dear Dizzi,
I hope that you are okay after your fall.Hopefully you can get your broken walker replaced, and the council will fill in that dangerous hole.

I feel for you as I had a similar thing happen to me when I was out walking my two little dogs. One piece of pavement was about 2 inches higher than the adjoining one beside it,and I tripped over it, and down I went.

With the force of tripping over I let go of one of the dog's leads, and he ended up in the middle of the road.Lucky there were no cars coming!!Fortunately I was able to keep hold of the other dog's lead. I was really cross, and annoyed,as you would have been.

Don't feel embarrassed-we pay rates to the council-it is up to them to ensure that dangerous hazards like these are promptly removed, and other people don't come a cropper on them.

Your 8 year old grand daughter was quick thinking in her actions, and very brave-no wonder you are very proud of her.!!

:-D :-D :-D :-D

Take care,

Margot.
