Yeah - I thought it may be a repeat. Was on BBC4 then as well.

When I was working for the Children's Society, back in the 60's, we went 'down to Egypt'.
The wash room was down 3 steps & had very decorated 'Pyramid' loo & matching wash basin. :-D

There was a Hotel not far from wher I live (Before it burnt down) the gents was spectacular, all the pipework was of highly polished Brass, the Urinals were Marble (As were the Toilets) and where the water came out to cleanse the urinals the spouts were gold plated fish heads ,it was valued at over £30.000. but it was worth going there just to see it.The Victorians/Edwardians really had some inotive designs and creations. unlike the rubbish turned out today.**M**.

We were real modern, had a flush toilet across the back porch. One of my school friends always called for me early as she hated using their loo, which was down the garden & emptied when her Dad thought it needed doing. :-0

We had outside loo up until 1990. Did have one in house but that was top of a 3 story house. So was handy having the outside one. But not in the winter tho
