Why is it that....

Whenever I have to 'reinstall' my freeview, the chanels I've deleted - ie the porn chanels placed (on my freeview) conveniently between CBBC and CITV reappear !!

For the past 2 weeks or so, I've been listening to the radio through the TV - my DAB radio is having a hissy fit and I can't be bothered sorting it at the moment. About every other day, I either lose the radio, or the TV, whereupon, I don't reinstall, just change the settings that have randomly changed to 'All' rather than just TV or just radio,

Why, when I do this, do the bl**dy porn channels reappear??

It's driving me round the bend :-S

are you setting back to factory settings or rescanning?

Good grief! Is there porn on freeview?

Do you have a 'parental control' facility? Could that help?....unless it locks out other channels as well.

Unless someone comes up with detailed guidance, you might consider contacting the TV or Box manufacturer.

If you are "reinstalling" or resetting the box then it will go back to factory settings and of course will show every available channel - depending on the "box", if it is a very high end one you may be able to change that but basically if you are resetting it then you will get that

I'm not 'reinstalling' or even scanning, - just resetting it back to 'radio AND TV' rather than one or the other.

Why is it assumed porn is a necessity of every form of media?

I beleive it's 'Pay to view' porn - but don't see why I or my grandchildren should even see the words 'Sexy girls' or whatever it is.

I've gone beyond parental control - I DELETE them.

I totally agree that it should not be rammed down your throat but what do you mean by resetting? Do you mean to factory settings or what? It sounds like it may be a setting particular to your equipment - we don't all have the same equipment and yours may be more inclined to ram it down your throat

No, not factory setting - I go to
Set up
configuration
show all (ie TV & radio rather than one or the other - not porn - but porn reappears!!)

from what you are saying you are basically telling it to do exactly that - show all!
It will show all available programmes and then you will have to set parental controls I guess - rtfm

what is the make and model?

maggiewinchester Report 17 Jul 2012 00:43

Oh B**ger. I can see repetative stress injury approaching!!
Will now have to work out parental controls, or continue deleting.

I'm worried that the 'Gay Rabbit' channel may make grand daughter (aged10) wonder/ask awkward questions about her bunny - Jesus (that's his name, not me blaspheming) :-D

'What's a gay rabbit granny, and why do they have a channel about them?'

hahaha - as I said before rtfm

while on the subject of freeview, (all fed from the same aerial)Why is it, that my ancient philips digi box and my toshiba freeview vcr/dvd machine both show the current epg,

but the toshiba regza loses bbc, channels, 3/4/5 chan 5 and several others' epg's and often has to hunt for stations

tosh support says its signal strength but was ok before they went full power.......
