I have recently, in the last 6 months or so had several family trumps (or hot matches as they are called) sent in an email that are totally wrong. This never used to be the case, in the past the two people being matched at least had the same birthdate and name and sex. This is not the case now. The latest one of these is trying to match a man and a woman, one born in 1940 and the other in 1868!!

Anyone else noticed these being very wrong?

My HotMatches always get the year right (even when I've entered 0 - zero!).

I used to get pages and pages of matches ~ Mary Brown born 1878 in Scotland hotmatched with Mary Brown born 1878 in New Zealand; not so much of that now.

I now get a few HotMatches every few days, much better.

It would be even better if the "Matched Members" were still around.

Scozz I had a Mary Brown born 1890 In Lancs and used get at least 20 wrong HM, I also had a Robert Jones , for all the years my tree was on this site I never got one decent match :-(

I've had Not Matches that only have the letter E and 1 in common.

I think Family Trumps are something different. :-0 :-S

'Family Trumps' is rather an unfortunate phrase.

In our family it means something totally different......... :-D

According to the Home page I have at least a dozen new hot matches since the end of June.
Checked the Hot Matches..........nary a one.

Grandson (aged 3 at the time) and I were watching the Grand Prix.
We were sat on a leather sofa.
Every time my grandson moved the sofa made a 'sound'. He accused me of 'Trumping' (which, of course, I denied), but the little darling has referred to me as 'Granny Trump' ever since :-0

...he's such a nice boy otherwise.....

Laughing hysterically now. I'm glad that it means something else to others too because I was expecting to find a post about ........ well ..... you know :-D

Stuart I just wanted to apologise and hope that you didn't think I wasn't interested in your thread. It's just that I'm working on a house at the moment and two of the guys working for me made me laugh a couple of days ago - all to do with very base humour and bodily functions after ...... Most Hot matches and Family trumps I get are for trees that i am already in touch with the owners, so nothing new

Surely they can add to the program not to instigate matches where the parties are already in touch

it says .... dont worry GR looks for new hot matches every 14 days ......
Well in my case it must be about every 14 months .....
