Is there a kind hearted person on here, who has a glut of Cooking Apples, and are willing to swop for a T**co bag full of Runner Beans.
Or, do you have a glut of Plums, these I will swop for Dwarf Beans (Kenyan Beans).
Just think of all me pies and puddin's I can't make. Me copious family will be givin' me the sack, so they will.

Good Afternoon Julia :-)

Well our Bramley is laden with apples....but they are the size of plums :-0. I thought with all the rain we've had of late they would reach a good size.....Not so.... Really disappointing.

nothing to do with doggies!

Got dozens of the things

Bobtanian, Dawnie has to catch me up yet. LOL

Wend, get it pickled, and if you have leftovers, make a Red Slaw Salad. Very fashionable in all the top foodie mags.

Piers, what can I say. I feel so sorry that you are left holding your plums.

Scozz. I'll take the PawPaw please. I could make a sugar syrup and slice the parpar into it and freeze. Maybe add a little Gin or Vodie to the syrup.

'Tis hard work being the matriarch of a large clan. They all want b***dy well feeding, sometimes.

Red cabbage? Yum! I cook up loads of that and freeze it. Love it with chestnuts mixed in.

Anyone want the recipe?

Will send you some pawpaw Julia ~ how long will it take to get to Derbyshire from Oz? lol ~ and how mushy will it be?

Island Report 7 Sep 2012 13:13

Yes please Scozz, I love chestnuts and red cabbage always looks 'interesting' but I don't much like it on it's own.

Wend

Wend Report 7 Sep 2012 13:13

Yes please Scozz - all red cabbage recipes gratefully received. We usually chop it up and stew it for an hour or so with chopped ham and apple and red wine vinegar.

i'm a bit disappointed about the paw paws not having little doggies attached :-( :-D

Julia

Julia Report 7 Sep 2012 13:30

Yes please Scozz, you can send me your overload of Pawpaw. As we are able to buy them in this country, and they have obviously come from yours, I do not think they will 'soggy' too much in transit.
Many Thanks.

PS. Yes please also to the recipe. We also eat it here, especially at Christmas with Poultry. Darn it, I have mentioned the 'C' word again and we're only just into September. Rappa my typing fingers
