Thinking about your daughter and all her school friends at this time.

I hope that they are able to watch the funeral procession go passed so that they can show respect and say their goodbyes in their own way.

A very sad day.

Good bye little Tia, may you rest in peace. <3 <3

Not the right way for young people to learn about death :-( Very sad for all concerned - I'll be thinking of your daughter, her friends and the poor family of Tia <3

Sue

I know what you are saying but with my 2 things are different...their dad is West Indian & their funerals are so different from our, they celebrate the life of that person & not mourn death

Thanks for that Julie - I didn't realise.

Julie, it is wonderful that your children can see beyond the sadness (even if they are sad)
Perhaps they will be able to share that with some of their class mates.

Celebrating a life is such a good way to remember someone.

Sue i would love a West Indian send off

Everyone wears bright colours....It the men that carry the coffin ( sons,G/Son & SIL) Then women ( daughters,G/Daughter & DIL) walk behind the coffin into the church

Then at the graveside the men again carry the coffin & lower the coffin then cover it over while the women all stand round singing. It is beautiful

Sorry if anyone wants me to take this post off
xx

My friend and I went to a funeral of a dear West Indian friend,a few years ago.

That is, we were supposed to go, but got confused with the time, and turned up two hours late!

We finally caught up with the "after party" so were able to be part of the send off.

Dear K. would have been really amused.

Poor little girl. Rest in peace now Tia.

I was disgusted that the grandmother was allowed to attend the funeral, she is still on bail I think.
