Morning all,

As some of you know I have a Westie and been told by the vet that his bones
in one of his legs is calcifying, which is painful for him.

I have never heard of this, anyone come across this?

No I haven't Emma. Is your Westie an old fellow?

Your little ones are gorgeous - I love seeing the photos you put up on here.

Thanks Sue my grandies are coming on well.

Rory is only 5years old and vet says looking at xrays that bone
is growing on bone and also growing where bone should not be.

Never gave us any indication that he was in pain although at times
he did seem stiff.

That's a worry. Has the vet indicated whether anything can be done to help him?

I have meds to give him and have to rest him so
no long walks for a fortnight, which he misses
already, he is also developing arthritis such a shame
in a young dog.

It is a shame - something you would expect with an older dog. I hope all goes well, Emma <3

Hello AnnMarieG, have googled this and seems to happen
to Labs also, bigger dogs and over weight dogs. My Westie
is not over weight and suppose its just one of those things
that happen. Didn't want to read too much on google incase
I came across something that would upset me worse, so will
stick with advice from vet.
I hope you daughter's spaniel is in not too much pain, thank
you for your reply.

Aww Emma........Sorry to hear your little Westie is having problems. I know how much you love him.

I hope the medication relieves any pain that might occur and he continues to have a long and happy life.

Bless him..........Prickles. xxx
