Thanks Island.
Would never have thought of that, but I´m not very au fait with computerspeak. I´m still working on English, with the odd foreign phrase thrown in. ;-)

Many thanks to you for that explanation Roy :-D , I use Firefox , like Wend , but as all is OK with things at the mo , I will leave my 'cookies' alone ;-)

I was just being curious as why I didn't have that option in tools, I don't have the extra icon ( looking like a torn piece of paper either ! )

Sandie. :-)

When IE views a web page, if their is a compatibility issue then your browser should show an extra icon at the end of the address bar ( looks like a torn piece of paper ) click on that to go to compatibility view, bear in mind that just because the icon is their does not automatically mean that you need to,

compatibility view is their for if the website you’re visiting doesn't look right. It shows up as a jumble of out-of-place menus, images, and text boxes.

so if the page is OK and nothing is missing then you don't need it

I think compatibility view is feature of Internet explorer so don't think other browsers have that option

Just Googled for FireFox compatibility and the advice is to clear cache and cookies

Wend Report 20 Oct 2012 17:33

I have Firefox Roy.

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 20 Oct 2012 17:27

What browser are you using?

generally speaking if you don't have the option to go to compatibility view then it's because your browser is already compatible with the web page your viewing

But not always
