I went to my book - long time since I read it.
I've never looked at relgious hierarchy in anything other than a 'different' way. So much power and influence over true believers and, in many cases, so few life experiences. A wonderful recipe for corruption - not just in religion, in Government & business too.

Having said that, the previous Bishop of Winchester and his lovely wife were a laugh, and, in their own way kicked over the traces.

I watched the obnoxious, smug, self serving Mellor and Patten this morning spouting their tripe.

No doubt relieved that the DG fell on his sword. They have to take some responsibility for this mess too.

Newsnight should continue to be broadcast, it's a very good programme when it gets things right. However I do believe that the whole authority needs an overhaul in order to regain it's credibility.

The DG of the BBC should be fired. His interview with John Humphries was full of excuses. Lord Mc should sue the pants off them and Newsnight should be pulled. You simply cannot have a public broadcaster going around just believing what someone said happened 30 odd years ago and broadcasting a story without proper investigation as to its authenticity, when individuals lives could be ruined by the story concerned. It's irresponsibility of the highest order.

Just a thought. If Lord Mc did sue the BBC would our licence fee go up to pay for it?

Why would they do that?

I have just read in the paper, that the guy who accused the MP was shown a photo by the police and they told him his name.

It is such a shame that this is now getting 'out of control'.

That man was obviously abused, but now he cannot id his abuser so unless someone else comes forward, nothing will be done.

I don't think they named any names.

I know who the other person referred to is but only because I trawled around the internet to find a bit of gossip.

He hasn't made any comment.

This is an odd situation.
