Had to go for a 6mnth check up (womens prbs) At 8.00am took the dog for her walk, hadn't got very far and was negotiating a drop kerb when I caught my toe in a hole and went flying.Blood streaming down my face I extracated my arm from a blue box, cursed the metal gate I had head butted, continued onto the nearest grassed area (dog loo), picked up and posted in the nearest bin the pressie. I then called my daughter to ask her to take me to the hospital Iwas going by bus but erred on the side of caution. My daughter took a photo of the gash it had gone to the bone and you could see my skull I have 6 stitches and some glue mi hair is a mess but on the bright side I did a least get to both departments in the same day, I would have been really annoyed if I had done it tomorrow and had to make another trip. I just missed my temple and it goes right to the centre of my head(scar will be under my hair) I don't want to spoil my looks lol. Am ok but hair is a mess. :-0 and :-P to the metal gate. Elaine.

Sounds nasty and really painful.

Great that you can see the humour though of managing to do this when you already had a hospital visit planned !

I hope you have a peaceful night and manage to find a comfortable way of resting your head.

Get well soon.

Actually I'm ok. Everyone else in shock me fine but I couldn't see it. I am more worried about not being able to clean mi hair up. Must have a thick skull as it's still intact so no brain leakage, I need all mi brain can't afford to lose any at my age. :-D :-D :-D

flying doctor by name, flying doctor by nature Eh!!!

Seriously though sounds nasty. You need to take it easy now and get help asap if you start to get headaches and or vision problems.

Elaine, I am sorry you had such a nasty accident, and hope you will feel better soon, and able to wash your hair and get dolled up lol

I bet you were preoccupied with the day ahead and didn't notice the hole, but take care when out and about, we don't want you having any more mishaps.

Shows what a good person you are to worry about the doggie doodoo at a time when you should have been more worried for yourself.

Take care now, or take more water with it

love

I would have thought that being a "Flying Doctor" you would have known that "Headbutting Steel Gates is a No No." :-D

When I see Greta, owner of the gate. I am going to ask her why she didn't have them padded to prevent such an accident, some people do not think (a head) do they. Well at least the stitches will be out before my trip( no pun intended) to Gemany,Bavaria, Austria on ( 9th December) well youve got to laugh havn't you. :-D :-D ;-)

I am sure you will look great when you go away Elaine, stitches or no stitches. You are away when I am, we are off to Heacham for four days from the 9th as o.h. has some holiday to use up and we thought it a chance to go back to the rented house he loves there and have a little change of scene, maybe do some last minute Christmas shopping and I can write my cards while he snores on the sofa in front of the log fire. We haven't been thataway for a while now so will be good to visit there, if only the rain will have stopped by then and the weather will be dry.

Glad you can laugh about your mishap, take care now
