Milly is tearing around the living room tonight, she just tried to use my toes as a cat toy which she was told was not on, I bought her a bag of balls with little bells in them and what does she think is the most fun, pouncing on the newspaper that was put down for the wet patch the old dog left.

It's lovely how cats seem to choose their homes! My cat once belonged to my daughter, until she got a rescue dog. She naively thought it would be company for the cat!
The cat left home, and turned upon my doorstep 4 weeks later, and 7 years on, she's still here!

I couldn't think of a name at the time and remembered George's :-D

George (the dog who is now 16 years old) mostly pretends that the kitty isn't there and ignores it unless it is trying to get at what he considers his food (ie whatever I am trying to eat), kitty is funny as she hisses at George when he gets to close but as she is only around four months (vet's best guess) but it is such a small sound that George just carries on walking past.

I would say that Milly had been left to fend for herself, she comes inside for just a few minutes at a time and then heads back outside. I did get her to eat her breakfast in the kitchen this morning, as my brother had taken George for his walk.

Not sure if we're about early or late....I'm waiting for the cricket to start on the radio :-)

I guess i have been lucky with the dogs I've had that that got on well with cats (after the cats let them know who was boss)

Jax... my old tabby wasn't partial to prawns either but that didn't stop her getting the Cat fish out of his tank and taking it to her bowl.....found it in the morning with its whiskers wrapped around its head looking dry, popped it back in tank and lived happily for several more years (with A heavier lid on) :-D

Morning folks, you are about early!

It's strange really, for years and years people gave cats ordinary milk and now it's transpired that cow's milk isn't good for them. I miss my cats, wish I could have some here but it wouldn't work with two dogs next door that bark at everything in sight. O.h. isn't used to pets and was amazed when his dad and stepmum got two cats and his dad became besotted with them. Hope your new fur baby settles well Michelle and isn't too unhappy with the Christmas 'pressie'

Never tried that with mine...she probably would'nt like it anyway knowing her

She is the only cat I have ever come across that does'nt like prawns and even leaves them if they are in her proper cat food

No!! They do say some cats are lactose intolerant but there are low lactose brands available

I always say my cat was rescued......rescued from a house with 3 boys under 5... 4 other cats and a big dog that terrified her, she had been really happy as a house cat for the last 3 years

I hope that it is not cows milk she is being given :-0

Though Mine appears to be looked after and although a wee bit nervous sits on my window ledge until I open the back door, wanders in has a dish of milk and a bit of whatever is going gives the flat a once over and wanders off again.

She's a pretty little tortoiseshell who seems to be taking advantage whilst her slaves are out at work?

Prior to that we had a visitor!! nicknamed shortcut as he would cry at the back door walk through and exit through the front without glancing at us

Cats do seem to have a knack of sniffing out potential second homes

Well I should say someone has picked my house (well yard) to live in, this little kitty kat one day came to my open door while I was eating lunch and cried at me so much I ended up giving her a scrap of my lunch - three weeks on, kitty has been vacinated, being feed proper cat food and is booked in for speying on Christmas Eve.
