Dizzi , daughter just phoned me and whilst she was there I asked about my grandson`s escapade on gaming, she confirmed yes it was an Apple iPad and the amount was nearly £500.

supercrutch ...
He was not given the password by his dad, he watched his dad and memorised the password, the clever little bu***er.

7 years old hey!, sorry to say I have to admit a sneaky little bit of pride at his ingenuity really. :-D :-D
(one to watch that one I think) ;-)

Sounds like someone should be made to pay back in some way. :-|

I do not find it at all amusing. These children are old enough to understand that it is wrong to use someone else's password without their permission.

Actually - you can claim it back - Apple will consider each case individually

Carol,
my grandson was not aware he was doing wrong he watched what his dad did and mimicked his actions, this is how children learn things, from example,by watching what grown ups do and how they behave.

Perhaps we should send these very young children to penal colonies abroad . like they used to a couple of hundred yrs ago ....

HEY OZ! any more room over there for a 7yr old dangerous delinquent, who should know better. :-|

Perhaps if these games companies had a better safe guard system in place so that children could not access via just a password. it could stop this sort of thing from happening.
(Something like an e-mail alert to the account holder asking for verification)

Errol matey ,:-)
the little un plays the same games as his dad does, so do you think they are going to believe that the dad hadn't made the purchase`s. :-D

BOO matey,
There are plenty of well documented cases of Apply paying out.
I have just done a quick Google search and straight away found this, for example...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/apple/9928381/Boy-runs-up-1000-bill-buying-virtual-doughnuts-on-iPad.html

They have paid out both here and in the States. Fact

Thanks for that one Errol I`ll give daughter a bell and let her know. :-)

I suspect Dad has an easy password to remember, maybe he should change it to something more complicated with lower and upper case plus numerals.

Hope she gets somewhere but there have been quite a few successful cases

Budgie Rustler Report 14 Mar 2013 16:51

I've let her know Errol so its up to them now . I`ll let you know if they decide to proceed with it.

AnninGlos ,
He has since changed his password and the little one has to ask now if anything comes up asking for money to buy credits. and then his dad sorts it without letting him see what the new password is.
(I reckon he must have a photographic memory):-D :-D

Daughter told me they only found out when they were out shopping and went to pay the bill and found out there account was empty... good job they hadn't got more than they had in it. :-)
