I am glad you were able to go to Sandie's funeral, Ann, it's always nice to think of someone representing all friends and acquaintances from the boards. We have lost so many lovely people over the years and I hope they manage to get together for a Meet in another place.

I am sure the things you have done Shaun, will help bring a smile and some comfort to Sandie's family as they face life without her.

My thoughts are with them

Thank you so much Ann. I would have liked to have gone to Sandie's funeral but with Alun working today it just wasn't possible, I'm afraid. Glad that you found Brynmawr and the chapel without too much trouble.

Thank you again Ann.

Love, Sallie.x

I was just telling Shaun there is a lovely photograph of Sandie on the front of the order of service and another lovely one of her and Malcolm on the back and as I said, I managed to pick up a few copies on my way ut of the chapel - people must have wondered what I was up to, so if anyone would like a copy I'll be happy to send you one

Shaun's will be in the post tomorrow

Hello Everyone.
It's been a day of gathering our thoughts regarding our Sandie and sending her family and friends our love and friendship in the hope of giving them comfort in there loss. Sandie's looking down on us all now and wondering what's all the fuss about.
I'm happy that you all like the poems which I have posted , Carolee's poem was also lovely . I have been adding a few more names to the Condolences Booklet , I think I will leave it for a couple of days before posting it to Sandie's family just in-case some peeps would like to add to it , there might also be peeps on holiday that do not know about Sandie's passing.
Going on the remarks she touched a lot of peoples hearts , and I think her family will be very touched also when they get this booklet.

well I found Brynmawr quite easily - very well signposted, then to find the chapel, not too difficult as people around the streets were very helpful

lovely little traditional Welsh chapel, full congregation - extremely lovely service with lady minister

Hymns - "Safe in the arms of Jesus" and "The old rugged cross"

various pieces of modern music played before the arrival of the coffin and Malcolm and children and the coffin and congregation left to "You raise me up"

Genes Reunited was mentioned quite a few times during the service, by the minister first, and then by Sandie's sister June, who spoke at length about Sandie, her achievements and her life growing up - lovely stories

GR also mentioned on the order of service in a thank you from the family and a few postings from this thread were read out

I spoke to Malcolm as I exited the chapel and told him who I was and that I was representing GR - I also left a card from GR. I left a card for you too Allan

Shaun will be pleased to know that he was mentioned during the service and the poem that he sent the family was read out. I shall sent you a copy of the order of service Shaun and I do have a few spare if anyone else wants one

All in all it was a lovely send off - I did not go to the interment or the refreshments after
