I too dipped in and out - The Stones were brilliant, but the best for me was Kenny Rogers - wonderful. Saw him in Cardiff a few years back and apparently he was performing here the night before Glastonbury - he's knocking on a bit now, but still good

Was out to dinner Liz but recorded Glasto. and stayed up to watch it later. well i'm only a couple of years older than Mick lol

Yes he's still got it although read he had to go into training, spells of not speaking to preserve his voice (probably wrecked now) and much gargling of honey & herbs.....different kind of medicine now....;-)
My family were there would love to have gone..... but don't think I could cope with the loos :-S

Hi Les, I never got to see the Stones or the Beatles, altho saw lots of other bands who came to Norwich - my street cred went up a mile with my son when I told him I remembered being a couple of yards away from Jimi Hendrix playing in our local Cellar under a pub where many bands entertained us. Some I recall are Alan Price Set, Geno Washington and the RamJam Band (my all time favourites I think) Georgie Fame, Chris Farlowe and more, in a tiny cellar room painted purple lol, condensation dripping from the pipes on the ceiling, so tightly packed you couldn't get your drink to your mouth or if you did, you couldn't get it down again lol One set of steep stairs to the bar above at street level, an accident waiting to happen but luckily nothing ever did. Those were the days!
Saw the Kinks, Yardbirds and more at other venues in the city but that cellar had such atmosphere!

Saying for a long and happy life used to be "Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise"

Perhaps" Sex drugs and rock & roll" might be just as good ;-) Oh and a lot more fun :-D

Dipped in and out. But he does now look very odd, as said before stick thin legs and really odd shoes on which made his feet look like boats.

Good ole Charlie just carries on regardless, probably the only one of that lot now who can honestly say his life has been truly good. Same wife, great blues careers alongside the Stones. And a very stylish dresser.

Have 2 friends at Glasto this year, one with his wife and family and another working with Oxfam as a carer to help those who get into 'trouble'.

Wow they can still play.

Watching them, I spent the whole time expecting one of them to collapse, having said that they really were the best group playing, well deserving to be the Star Turn.

My OH did make a comment about 'speed', then ducked as a cushion flew his way.

Have never really been a fan of the Stones, but looked in last night because I thought they were backing act for the Proclaimers - and I would walk......

Was mightily impressed. Final ambition as a young man was to die in my 90's on back of Marianne Faithful's motorbike. Watching Mick last night gyrating and prancing round like a 30 year old, have changed my ambition to "on the back of Mick Jagger's motorbike" :-) ;-)

I recorded the Glastonbury prog last evening with the Rolling Stones on. I wasn't sure about seeing them, have to give Mick credit for his stamina, he was leaping around in the old way but looked like a stick insect, so thin especially his legs.
Considering he will be 70 the day after my 66th birthday tho, I would like some of what he is on, he was on stage for ages and hardly stood still. The crowd of all ages seemed to love them but o.h. and I were underwhelmed with the song choices and the sound. Maybe we expected too much. Charlie Watts looked fairly well and Mick Taylor was overweight , Ronnie Wood was just Ronnie and Keith Richards looked a sight lol To think I used to drool over Mick when I was young, much to my Dad's disgust lol
