Sorry I'm late I was tied up :-D :-D

Physically - I cannot believe we could become totally free from all ties simply because we have children. We wouldn't want to!

I can see the attraction of living on a remote island somewhere warm and enjoying OH's company but how long before I was searching for a knife? or he was wielding a heavy rock?

Could I detach myself from technology? NO!!

Emotionally - Please refer to point one above...lolol I do have my own mind and have the luxury of expressing what's in it without fear.

Could I do without the rock wielding OH? NO!! he provides far too much support ;-)

It is Rose. OH is my rock and my soul. He fought hard for me the first few weeks of a 9 wk stay in ICU. I close my eyes and I can still hear his voice ' Fight, come on fight, we can beat this'.

I can get tetchy because I cannot do things and he gets tetchy at times because he gets tired but we each understand the other and it is so important he gets free time.

I do have wings and believe he does so. I do treasure the kiss on top of my head sometimes as he passes by!!

This week I was feeling so good we went to our favourite watering hole and had a lovely lunch - mind you I had a fit at the price of a Guiness £4 and a tonic water £1.80. <3 <3

Now I've got your attention.... 'Bondage' the ties that bind v 'freedom

We are ( most of us) tied to family, work, homes, the society we live in. 'Freedom' is a concept that most have to fit in to holiday times, or mere hours or minutes of me time a week...if that.

But what are your feelings on being really free...to roam if you want, stay in bed if you want, throw away all your possessions or ties, and just go forth into the wilderness alone as it were. Would you be able to do it? Would you want to?

Are you happy with the physical ties, of marriage or parenthood, provided you can have intellectual freedom? Slaves or prisoners have still managed to survive against all odd, because no one can 'tie down' their spirit, or imagination...inner freedom, to be inside yourself what the world denies you.

a few quotes

"Well married a person has wings, poorly married shackles.
Henry Ward Beecher "

Do you feel you have wings or shackles?

"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
Nelson Mandela "

Any thoughts?
