Yup!
By the time Telly Tubbies came along, my girls were a bit too old but... my eldest fell in love with Dipsy . She was about 16yrs old!

She still has a few of the plush Dipsys in addition to a favourite Dipsy Backpack!
Do you remember that baby in the big sun thing at the start of the TV programme?
That gave me the creeps!

I also have a few Care Bears of my own.
I remember that my OH bought me a big one for passing my driving test.... about 28 yrs ago . I think that was Good Luck Bear.
Again when each of the girls were born., he gave me:
Baby Tugs Bear, Baby Hugs Bear and Sunshine Bear
My loft is full of soft toys.
We gave most of the other toys away, but I refuse to part with the old brick trolly, a large wooden dolls house or a sit-on rocker thing! :-D

I recently helped at a primary school fete and was on the 'Tat stall' ...their name, not mine.
We had beanie bears...don't think they sold though.

Another item on the stall was a large size yellow Telly Tubby... Remember when parents queued at Christmas-time to hopefully get these hard-to-find creations ?

Ooh I might have a Toucan in the loft. I don't have so many Beanie babies as bears, it is the bears I like. But the ordinary beanies I do have quite a few. It used to be a competition between daughter, Grandsons and me as to who bought what, especially in Florida on holiday.

One day at the peak of their popularity and subsequently they were getting hard to find, we went through customs from Canada to America. Lady customs officer 'Anything to declare?' We say no, she then said 'Any Beabies?' :-D

AnninGlos,
I have a confession to make.
I have 3 daughters who were all little girls in the 90's.
They loved Beanie Babies and bought them almost on a weekly basis for years( I loved them too).

I honestly couldn't say how many there are in this house, but I guess around 500 babies plus at least 50 buddies!

I cannot believe that I am going to say this but, my youngest was desperate for one in particular and sent a letter to Santa asking for it.
I found it to be quite elusive and ( at the time) fairly rare.
I paid £70 for it.. A Toucan called Kiwi.
I think I would get about £5 for it now

I bought a load at a car boot sale, 3 for £5 - all sorts of animals, from a baboon to a penguin. I love their names - the penguin is called Frigid! :-D

We have just one Ann, a US Stars and Stripes bear bought for Dan when he was little.

They were hugely popular weren't they? With some staggering prices paid for rare ones, but just looking at completed listings on Ebay, they aren't selling now.

I have just counted, I have got 50 Beanie Bears. They are great really because each one commemorates an event. Princess was in memory of Diana, One for the Millenium, one for 9/11. they are all carrying name and date tags. When we collected them they were worth a bit but not any more I don't think.

Did anyone else used to collect them? I wonder what happened to all the collections. My Beanie babies are in the loft but the Beanie bears still sit on a shelf in our bedroom.
