Last July my other half Michael finally admitted he wasnt fit to drive anymore and surrendered his licence.

He has been OK with his decision but can be sometimes a back seat driver when I am driving

After his fall and hospitalization on Friday last week he was open to the suggestion from our grandaughter and later our grandson that a mobility scooter would give him some Independence

Its taken a week for him to get on even keel!! literally. and we went out yesterday and went to the local mobility centre to look at scooters. Well he bought one. it will have to kept in the garden but he was given a scooter cover and seat bag as part of the deal. Grandaughters OH is a brikkie and he put in a temporary ramp so he get it in the back gate and down into the garden. A concrete ramp is going to be put in asap.

OH this morning poodled up the road on his new wheels to get the Sunday Papers . Was back quicker than I thought he would be and all chuffed with himself.

No stopping him now lol

I am sure it will be good for both of you for him to be a little bit independent. :-)

How about some sort of alarm for when it is out in the garden?

We have the back metal gate padlocked so hopefully its secure . It does come with 3 years insurance too .

It will need a shed for it's security and a place to charge the battery up.

Ask Social Services if they will buy a shed for it. and don't forget the scooter will need to go on the house insurance.just in case..

Sorry if this upsets you but these are things you need to do.

The garden isnt big enough for a shed and the garage is too small to have it in there with the car , The garage does have electric though or we can remove the battery and bring it indoors to charge it

There's no room indoors either.

It's a 1960's mid terrace box with one through room and kitchen. The small hall is only the width of the front door. . The front garden is open plan, the back garden is accessed from a cul,de sac that you drive into to get to each houses garage in their,own back garden.
