from the Mail, and I can't copy it but thought it spot on, ;-)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2408583/From-bad-quite-good-trait-polite-stops-saying-really-mean.html

It reveals that when a British person begins a sentence ‘With the greatest respect...’, they’re really saying ‘I think you are an idiot.’
‘I hear what you say’ means ‘I disagree and do not want to discuss it further’ while ‘That is a very brave proposal’ translates as ‘You are insane’.

:-D :-D

With the greatest respect RamblingRose, I hear what you say and am inclined to agree.
PS I don't think you are an idiot and I do not disagree (oops a double negative)

Sometimes it has to be explained that 'fat free' is not the same as 'free fat'.

What a Blooming mistake. An Irish Euro coin misquotes a line from Ulysses.

Central Bank of Ireland gaffe causes 10,000 €10 coins honouring Irish modernist writer to be minted with an extra word.

Begorrah!

What was the misquote Dermot?

An extra word was mistakenly added to the well-known quote.

The coins have not been recalled & they are changing hands at a mouth-watering price. There is now a vacancy for a Proof-Reader in Dublin, if anyone is interested.
