can I just ask please?

What is the average 'waiting' time at the moment for postie to call?
I'm getting very impatient....been sat here by the letterbox for 11 days and never had to wait this long :-|....

:-D

RE your query - I haven't ordered one for sometime - if you ordered on line, what was the estimated date for despatch?? It used to be about 4 to 5 working days if you ordered before 4pm on a Friday. They are sent second class as you know.

If nothing comes today, you could give them a ring ?

Hmmm I`ve never had to wait that long before, did they not give you a rough delivery date? :-)

:-(

There was some talk that GRO had reduced it's staffing levels when the price went up a couple of years ago - fewer people were ordering them. It sounds as the demand for Certs has increased as we've got used to the price, but they haven't taken on more staff to cope with it.

With a few exceptions, historical BMD are a luxury. On that basis it's better that Government cuts fall there than deeper cuts on a more essential department. :-0

DazedConfused Report 21 Oct 2013 11:37

The GRO is self funding so they cannot take on more staff to cope with an increase in demand, which often happens following any series of WDYTYA.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Oct 2013 11:45

If that's the case, then an increase in demand ought to trigger an increase in staffing levels, even if they only bring in Temps.

Ours not to reason why, ours but to sit and watch the calendar :-( :-D

Ordered one on the 12th October which arrived on 19th. ( Despatch quoted as 18th).

Sorry Mauonthecoast - but I guess I've just annoyed you!.

I usually only wait about 5 to 7 working days but .....

I ordered 3 certs on line 19th Aug. Waited and waited so checked the despatch date and it was 11th Sept.

They date on the certs was 21st Sept and I got them 26th.

Just as well they were each exactly what I had hoped for.
