TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 8 Nov 2013 03:03

A distant relation married a Minnie Onions in Derbyshire, in the 1800's

In spite of it being a rather unusual surname, there are also Onions in my in-law tree. (Oldbury area)

As far as I know these families are not connected.

Edit. Haven't found an Onions Lewis on either side of the family.

When my relative first told me my grandmother's maiden name I thought he said O 'nions but it's Hiorns.

Imagine having to spell your surname out most of the time, must get very annoying.
