The first time one of "mum's expressions" came out of my mouth, I slapped myself in the face :-0

The expressions still come to mind, but I stop them before they get to my mouth.

I loved my mother, but she still drove me mad at times. <3

She was SO fussy! Example..... The plastic coloured clothespegs had to match whatever they were used for on the washing line, if not matching, then all the pegs had to be the same colour! She changed my pegs more than once, because my washing line looked "untidy"! These days I deliberately pick pegs that don't match anything. I'm just as bad rofl

<3

If a packer squashed my bread I'd take it back & get another loaf........ something my mother would never do, because that would cause trouble! I'm paying for it, I don't want a squashed one.

Most checkout operators ask now if you are ok packing your own bags. I always have spare bags in my handbag but sometimes the small supermarkets rush to put things in their bag before you can get your loyalty card out or whatever. I usually say Yes, I can manage as long as you don't go too fast and that makes them go a bit steadier giving me time to gather together all the money off coupons, loyalty card, credit card etc. If there is a bit of a queue it gives me time to do that first and have my own bags opened ready.

I know I am turning into my mother, looks wise, shape wise and for a long time have been told I sound like her too.

Actually while on the subject, I hate it when the person on the checkout rushes everything through so fast it's like an endurance test to bag it up. I have asked for them to slow down as I have not paid to have my food thrown at me.....I think I am turning pinto my Mother

I generaly do pack my own bags, The problem is when i only want a small amount of shopping so don't use a trolly but use a "basket" which you then put on the side of the checkout, The checkout then insist on packing the contents in the bag as they scan them,

After all you wouldn't accept squashed/broken eggs so why accept squashed bread

The funny thing is it only happens when it's a female on the checkout, Do they accept squashed bread in there shopping, I think not,

All the males on the checkout do it as i do.

About 20 years ago, I was in the bathroom, caught sight of myself and saw mum looking back at me. It was a shock. I always knew I looked like her but oh my god.

Now I find myself doing lots of things like her.

ITS FRIGHTENING !!!!!! :-D

Roy - if you would only use the re-usable bags, you can arrange them along the bottom of your trolley and pack them scientifically yourself! cold things together, tins at the bottom and tomatoes on top, cleaning things separately..................... !|

Your mother and me are alike, Nothing worse than squashed bread

Dispite my best attempts to educate them

I buy bread and milk every other day and the checkout are always putting my bread in the same bag as the milk, When they do i insisted they replace the bread they have just squashed with a fresh un-squashed loaf

.My Mother was a lovely lady , I could do a lot worse than to be like her, its just a bit scary, perhaps a sign I am getting older...........

At one particularly unhappy time in our relationship OH said I had taken on my mother's mantle.

Oh no I haven't.

If you didn't see one in a jumble sale she would not have had a mantle!

I am turning into my Mother!

I know have started to look like her and on occasions I sound like her and often find myself using some of her expressions. This morning at the checkout in the supermarket I heard myself say "Please DON'T squash my bread" I would swear she was behind me <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
