UzziAndHerDogs Report 10 Mar 2014 20:02

Dear Minx,
I am sorry because of your illness which I didn´t understand I have alienated you from other dogs. I am sorry that trying to protect you I have taken away from you all the fun you should have had. All I can say is it is because I love you. If I had understood your illness when you 1st had petite mal fits. I would have rethought the way I had brought you up. Instead I saw only you lashing out and couldn´t trust you with others.

Now because of the years I mis-diagnosed. You can´t and won´t trust other dogs, you are 8 years old and have never been allowed to really play since you were 4 when you seemed to turn nasty, But Minx you have to allow me some credit for looking after Mini who loves you even though she is limited. because of you. Mini is a credit to the dog world as she always lets us know when you are fitting and she worries for ages after-

So my little poppet let me sleep tonight because without it I am no use to you

Thank you John m little ones are lovely and they love each other in their own way Mini yapped her head off at 3.40 am this morning to tell me Minx was fitting ......I was already there.
What brought something home today was Minx wanting to play with a local dog and I automatically shortened her lead so she walked passed and allowed Mini to play..

They both sound so lovely - and so intelligent. And it seems you are giving them both the best possible life.

Yes, we can all regret things in the past. But who would have realised what was wrong with little Minx. Not me. Not most owners, probably. And I expect both dogs would woof that they love you unreservedly
:-D :-D <3

Wend, Elaine and Susan thank you, it is something I will and can live with although when I am so short of sleep I am not always sure

John ..without sounding big headed I know both my dogs would protect me, thank heaven they don´t have their own internet account !!! Thank you for your comments, not even my vet realized she was epileptic until she was 5/6yrs old. What chance did I have ??

Uzzi, nobody does more than you for your dogs and they are both special. Minx is happy in her own way and Mini would lick you to death given the opportunity. I hope that you get a good nights sleep tonight and Mini and Minx too. See you in the morning.

That's nice Uzzi. I know how you feel altho my need for forgiveness was not noticing the swelling on my dog's belly soon enough, she had mammary cancer and we lost her soon after the op was done to try and remove it. I don't know if it would have made much difference had I noticed it sooner but I still feel awful about missing it. She hadn't seemed to be in pain tho but I wish I hadn't put her through the op. Poor old girl I still miss her. I always said if we had burglars she would only lick them to death.

Hope you got some sleep last night or did Ann's hubby snore and wake you?

Well I slept okay and both my little horrors behaved, I did actually sleep until 6am

Ann I have to laugh at Mini as she now sits on the windowsill and listens for you, her bark is different from OMG that is a stranger and come talk to me. !

Wend you know my dogs love you and that nice stuff you put on your legs :-D :-D

Liz, you loved yours and you can't beat yourself up for something that you didn't know, just miss your little one with good memories. If Ann's OH snores it isn't loud enough to penetrate downstairs.. :-D :-D :-D.

Wend Report 11 Mar 2014 20:56

((Hugs)) Uzzi. They licked R's legs too, no fake tan on those, but they are rather tasty - his best feature imo, ha ha !

Apart from his sweet nature, that is <3

Bless her Uzzi, she wags her whole body then licks our fingers to death. Minx looks and you can see her thinking 'oh it is just them again, I'll pretend to be interested'.

He doesn't snore but his coughing might wake you sometimes. Good job the building is pretty solid! :-)

UzziAndHerDogs Report 11 Mar 2014 21:39

lol Ann, Minx really is not like that she really is just unsure, trust me that little fat body of hers can wag as silly and as fast as Mini's does. but Mini can get on the windowsill and find you first ! and I haven't heard a single cough. I do hope all is well.

Wend okay my dogs are licky dogs but they did prefer your legs to R's

awww poor Minx.

Our neighbour's dog (female) has just been diagnosed with something similar, she's about 4 years old. It only started about six months ago.

Her brother, who is much bigger (normally a docile dog) gets nasty when she has one of her turns, and attacks her!

They are now in separate areas of the garden, with a high wire fence between them. They stand nose-to-nose and the tails are wagging like mad.

Hopefully the medications the vet is giving her will help.

Sorry disappeared for awhile ..okay I will own up I got hooked on a jigsaw that I have now finished. !

Ann we don´t hear anything down here from you. :-D :-D it´s only Mini and her body wag tells me that you have gone passed during the day.

Scozz What you said about the neighbours dog is interesting. as before Minx was diagnosed at around the age of 4 she used attack Mini for no reason .....we have since discovered it was the petite mal fits. Now when Minx has a fit Mini goes ballistic BUT as I have discovered not to attack her, even though she is scared of her normally (Minx still rules the roost) when she fits she actually tries to help her and frets over her.

Minx will come off medication when she finishes this course of Pexion as it doesn´t seem to be working. I think we will keep her off all medication (apart from love) unless her fits get worse.
I have to think myself lucky as a friend has recently had to put their puppy down who was on all medication and still having up to 20 fits a day. Poor little soul wasn´t even a year old- :-(

This place must have really thick walls as we don't hear a thing up here.

Did you hear Mini when we came back tonight? She was up by our gate and heard us come in the main gate, came towards us barking and wagging her tail but she wasn't sure if we should be allowed past. She came up to us and backed away, then came towards us again. It took a while to persuade her we were allowed in, she was still grumping a bit when we came up. :-D :-D
