It makes life interesting though doesn't it! Well, for me...but not for Mavis. I will collate all this information and try and piece it together for her. Thank you :D |

That would also be her, as I've heard the reference to Little. Golly! what a minefield! |

Thank you so much all of you. This is such a great help. I am collating all this information for Mavis, whom I shall meet for the first time next month, in a bid to give her at least some background on her early life, of which she has no memories. She was 'adopted' at the age of 2 and has been looking for many years for her natural family. She would be my half sister as we share the same father. William Phillips. |

Yes, I have William marrying in Dec quarter of 1943 in Cambridge to Dorothy E Doggett. Then there is the death of a Dorothy E Phillips in the June quarter of 1949, in Coventry, aged 28. That would make her y.o.b. about 1921, unless the informant was just guessing her age. |

That would certainly be the previous marriage of Violet. The pieces are all coming together. Would it possible to find out if they produced a daughter called Patricia during the following 5/6 years? Thank you :D |

Huia, am I understanding correctly. (Sorry, I'm not familiar with the terms) There is a marriage listed in Cambridge with Violet Evelyn Dogget in 1943. Would that have been to spouse surname Matthews who subsequently died in 1949? Thank you :) |

Thank you so much Kath and I have replied to you in a PM. Thank you Huia. I am trying to piece together a very complicated puzzle for this lady and eventually I will unravel it. She has been searching for many years to find her history and family. Your help has been very much appreciated :) Also, yes, the mmn was Dogget so that would be the correct birth entry. |

On freeBMD the birth appears in Southhampton, but with a different mmn. There is a m in Cambridge with that mmn as the spouse, 3 yrs earlier. There is a death for the spouse of that name in Coventry in 1949. |

Not absolutely certain it's the right one. You'll have to see what you think. |

Hiya. I don't know if anyone can help me. I am trying to trace the birth record of Mavis Delores Phillips, born 18/2/46. I'm not sure where the birth was registered. Her father was William George Phillips and her mother was Violet Evelyn Matthews. Any help would be appreciated. Also trying to find out if her mother and father were married. I know it's a big ask...but if anyone can help me piece this together I would be very grateful. Thank you :-) |
