The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.....

Have donated £5000 to the Rhyl flood appeal when some homes were badly damaged last December.

Prince Charles has donated before .

Prince William has a special affection for North Wales where they felt comfortable and able to live a more normal life.
One of my friends saw him cycling along the prom near here a couple of years ago,and he just said good morning.

I think he will make a good King. :-)

I love N Wales too. Brenda. And I wave at everyone when I walk down prom. :-D :-D

If they both like N Wales, they are fine by me.

;-)

Emma. You will deservedly be following royalty :-D

Not only Wills and Kate. But also Owain Glyndwr who strode along Rhyl prom in 1412 to overthrow nearby Rhuddlan Castle (pronounced "Cass" and "tull")

We love these two, Rollo. And Prince George. Only guillotine in Rhyl will be a large one to trim all the extra copies of the Liverpool Daily Post. ;-) And only cake will be in Fortes on Rhos prom (now Summers has closed in Rhyl, I believe).

Your post may be a brioche too far.

John am looking forward to it, a sort of trial run
and could be exploring the rest of Wales.
Worked with a friend years ago who was Welsh
and always wanted to visit, never too late. :-D :-D

This probably isn't their only donation to flood/storm damaged areas.
I'd rather have royalty than a president like Putin!

Hope we can order some good weather for you GG when you visit.
Maybe we can meet up for a coffee somewhere???.I live about 7 miles away.

:-) :-)

I'm going to Anglesey in June. :-) We went last year and stayed at Aberffraw and absolutely loved it so we are going back again.

JustJohn Report 19 Mar 2014 08:25

I expect Wills and Kate will miss Anglesey tremendously. It is a special place.

Many years ago, we rented a cottage at Malltraeth (just a couple of miles from Aberffraw, Annx). It is such a lovely area. You have the connections with Charles Tunnicliffe (famous bird artist) in Malltraeth, my favourite beach bear Newborough (Llanddwyn), Rhosneigr and a beach where my OH spent weeks every summer in her childhood (Trearddur Bay).

Where is our royal Anglesey reporter (Suzanne) when you need her?

My son lived in Hen Llandegfan till he emigrated to Oz almost 12 years ago.
Lovely beaches all around there.Cable Bay was a favourite.

Grandson worked in The George restaurant in Beaumaris which is..or was ..one of the finest in Wales.expensive, but excellent.

There is an article in the Daily Post today that is about Trip Adviser not mentioning any of the beaches in North Wales in best beaches...think we should put that right!

Google Daily Post John...it's no longer Liverpool DP,...they have East and West editions, mainly Wales only. :-)

I often go to Rhosneigr for the watersports - love it there and now that the Maelog Lake Hotel has reopened as the Oyster Catcher it is excellent.

Rollo - I couldn't agree more - j'ai tout vu, j'ai tout entendu, j'ai tout oublié.

I am also reminded of the Austrian floor fitter who, it was announced this week, was conned via Facebook out of thousands to renovate the parquet floors at Buckingham Palace by a bogus Prince Harry.

The stupidity of the human race never ceases to delight and amaze me on a daily, even hourly basis.
