about me .......that every time I move I have to replace taps !

My Bass pub in the Shepherds Bush they had to replace 2 taps with-in a month of me moving in and all I did was clean them. Because I had already had a tap in Streatham replace when I moved to Brighton I was asked to be careful. I was I cleaned everything and we replaced 3 taps and whole dish wash system. I replaced my tap in my old RV.
When I rented a van the tap leaked,I left it alone. I moved and cleaned the new taps and yes had to replace them. Well only the kitchen tap.
Now I have moved again and I am so worried about cleaning taps but I have done and no prizes for guessing what. I need a new kitchen tap, a new outside tap an a new shower fitment.

Now all I have done is clean them. I guess don´t clean the taps and allow the scale build up is okay but I can´do that :-(

It can´t be only me who cleans around the taps ..can it ?

Ann believe me I am so gentle with my taps but I do want them clean and hate build up of lime scale, I know that one of the pubs I had was because I removed the build up caused the leaked. I have a feeling that is what has happened in this house. I just need to dismantle the taps and re-new the washers. As for the shower head well it´s a new one.

Errol what a question ..how dare you have to ask if I am tapped ...you of all people should know I am !

Sometimes I think the lime scale eats into the metal so when you remove it you get the leak .
It can too take off the outer surface metal so leaves the base metal showing when the lime scale is removed

We live in a very hard water area so have a water softener .solves the problem at the start .

Our latest one too doesn't need to be connected to the electric to work
